Speedy51 The circumstances were that he wanted to know how to promote ARP units to the top of the queue, so I told him. Mike I was simply asking you to start work that had not already been started. Reason I did it was because I thought you were asking people to do it so the project could get completed as soon as possible. If I was a mistake and please accept 1000 humble apologies ![]() |

Supply of ARP1 work resumed some time just before 05:00 UTC on 2025-04-18, about 35 hours after the supply of new work dried up!
The latest "Operational Status" post also mentions ARP1 and its stranded tasks. Adri has already posted the text of the April 17, 2025 update into the Chat Room Project Status thread; it sounds promising, and I wish them luck in their efforts... And talking of problem units, I notice that the Darwin WU that Unixchick highlighted yesterday has now got a fifth "Pending Verification" result and a sixth potential sacrifice is now In Progress! Not looking good :-( but at least the other one mentioned in that post has validated. Cheers - Al. |

Unixchick's unit Pending Verification is an interesting case.
The normal criterium for erroring out a unit is based on the number of 'Error' copies. I don't know how many Pending Verification copies are needed for a unit to error out. Mike |

Again no movement of extremes or accelerated. There are 759, all of which appear to be stuck.
We are now 38% into generation 143. 1,256 normals validated yesterday from 142 & 143 plus 1 from 140. There are now 25,576 normals in the generations being released, many of which may be stuck, particularly in generations 137 to 141. There is at least 1 moving in generation 137 & 4 in 141. There are now 8,556 units held up in generation 144. Mike |

ARP1 Stuck Extremes, low throughput: Now that we have Windows and Linux builds for MAM1, we will be able to spend some time trying to reproduce and resolve the ARP1 extreme generations that are no longer progressing, and start increasing throughput for ARP1 in general.

Translation from Canadian to English - Low means zero.

We are now 43% into generation 143. 1,038 normals validated yesterday from 142 & 143 plus 1 from 141. There are now 24,571 normals in the generations being released, many of which may be stuck, particularly in generations 137 to 141. There is at least 1 moving in generation 137 & 3 in 141. We are now 48% into generation 143. 1,304 normals validated yesterday from 142 & 143 plus 1 each from 137, 140 & 141. There are now 23,287 normals in the generations being released, many of which may be stuck, particularly in generations 137 to 141. The 1 moving in generation 137 has moved on to 138. There are at least 3 in 141 - an unidentified unit from 140 replaced 1 from 141 which moved on to 142. There are now 10,845 units held up in generation 144. Mike |

Sunday Report
----------------------------------------All classifications have stayed put.. There are still 3 ultras in generations 21 & 22, 8 extremes in generations 104 - 110 and 12 in generations 115 - 124, None of those generations contain more than 2 units. We then have 295 extremes in generations 125 - 131. All of them appear to be stuck. There are now 318 extremes in generations 21 to 131 but all seem to be stuck. There are now 441 accelerated units in generations 132 to 136, all of which appear to be stuck. There are 34,850 normal units in generations 137 to 146.. WCG are currently releasing units in generations up to 143. We are now 49% of the way through generation 143. 9,786 units have validated in the week. Based on the last 5 weeks, we would complete ARP1 in April 2029. However, there may be an improvement when the new hardware is online by July. That strange Darwin WU that Unixchick reported now has one No Reply to go with the four Pending Verification results...
----------------------------------------And it seems we're out of new work again -- I got my last task at about 20:55 UTC on 2025-04-20... Cheers - Al. [Edit 1 times, last edit by alanb1951 at Apr 21, 2025 1:09:18 PM] |
