To automate retries I use Adri's wcgresults from Thanks for that. Probably won't use it with my other project CPDN however as when they have problems with servers, it tends to be completely dead till fixed and there is a danger of going up the maximum number of retrys allowed.https://sourceforge.net/projects/wcgtools/files/ On Linux use command crontab -e to create a timer to run every 15 minutes with option -x. Paul. Could you please enlighten us how the maximum number of retries allowed is computed for CPDN? |

ARP1 downloads are very slow at 50 KiloByte per second. Often download stalls and retries later.
My Linux script to retry download now is just a boinccmd --network_available. #!/bin/bash The network_available command option sometimes causes "Not sending work, last request too recent". Note: 123 is not my real password. |

With such little bandwidth available, computers running scripts such as that make the Krembil servers see a DDOS attack. :-D

I just highlight my whole "transfers" list and run an autoclicker over the Retry Now button every 20 seconds 100 times or so.

The GPUGrid project is famous for stopping access to both the website and work servers after a certain number of connections for a timeout period. We crunchers have long suspected that it is a DDOS protection measure implemented by their ISP (or the university itself), but the project has not admitted to knowing the cause.

If only there was more bandwidth available, those problems would go away. Without clicking retry downloads could take 12 hours or more so anyone who notices the holdup is going to keep retrying.
This must be fixed before the end of testing. Until then I am only running 1 machine. Mike |

Sunday Report .
22,741 units validated in 7 days, so average of 3,248.7 per day. This is more than double last week. Assuming that a full generation 182 will be the last, there are 1,850,720 units still outstanding, so my forecast end date would now be 16 April 2024, however, we are still in testing so we should finish well before then. Only 1 of the 3 ultra extremes has moved in the last week. The definitions of Extreme or Accelerated units are increased by 1 generation. . There are now 111 Extremes and 204 Accelerated units, although the numbers in their generations are 118 & 2,381 due to lack of movement. The situation with downloading units is still dire.. All classes of units are taking more than 13 days to validate on average, despite the relative deadlines. I presume this is because of the length of time that they take to download and possibly because the extremes are not necessarily going to the fastest machines as used to be the case with IBM. Mike |
