Just got a total of 52 WUs, OPN1 and MCM on 5 different hosts, but a lot of them can't download all the files normally. Specially considering that a lot of files are just a couple of 100s of bytes (not KB or MB!), there must be something very rudimentary amiss in Krembil's setup...

Some of the units have downloaded and others are being retried and backed off for quite some time. Most of them should be downloaded by morning I hope. I don't bother retrying manually, I just let the system do its thing and eventually they download. Cheers

TPCBF indicated...
----------------------------------------there must be something very rudimentary amiss in Krembil's setup Agreed. Now have a total of 191 tasks running on 7 systems, but the steer number of "Backing off" events to get there was simply staggering. Data-center network problems?, then who runs their data-center... A reverse lookup of www.worldcomminitygrid.org is
using whois for "cloud.sharcnet.ca" we find the Admin Organization is "The University of Western Ontario" Hmm, their own... Edit: So were they also responsible for the name lookup problems several days ago when this site was unreachable?

I'm so glad they opened the spigot. yes I get some errors, but I have some ARPs to do. I'll probably be annoyed when the cool weather comes if I'm not using my computer at full capacity, but it is hot now and I'm limited in what I can run.
I'm getting mainly 129, but I have a 132 in download mode. |

Sunday Report .
4,602 units validated in 7 days, so average of 657.43 per day. This is nearly double last week. Assuming that a full generation 182 will be the last, there are 1,927,025 units still outstanding, so my forecast end date would be 30 August 2030. However, we are still in testing so we should finish well before then. The 3 Ultras have stayed put. It is a pity they have not been allowed to start catching up as part of the testing. There has been no change in the definition of Extreme or Accelerated units. There are 113 Extremes (unchanged) and 252 Accelerated units (also unchanged. All 'normal' generations have been available but none of the earlier generations. This seems to indicate progress with testing. Mike |
