In someway I am shocked to read some ironic/aggressive remarks to the tech team for a non-vital issue like statistics. Well Ives, I wish it would be THAT simple. If the members would not be able to be fed timely and they would run dry, or if computed results would be irrecoverably lost, I would consider the issue being critical/vital. After 30+ years in process control and IT, I learned to set priority and to assess risks as adequately as possible. Statistics could represent a nice motivation, but it is nothing vital or related to money in anyway. Don't worry, don't be stressed, be relax and happy ![]() Yves What I have learned in 43 years of IT, is that misbehavings like with the stats are an indicator for the possibility of something more sinister lurking in the background. And specially when unexplained things happen, as insignificant they might be in the larger picture, just after an OS upgrade, that has me rather worried that it might just be a matter of time before it might effect the returned (or the return itself of) WUs. And all of this happening when WCG seems to get into gears introducing a new project, this just doesn't look good. At least from my side, I do not fault the techs themselves, but if conditions like this persists for weeks now, this leaves me a bit uneasy in general... Ralf |

Hmm I hadn't read this thread yet but today just before 9 am (GMT) I noticed the "stats are running will finish in 0 minutes and 0 seconds" message for the first time. It took around half an hour till I got access to My Contribution.

Greetings,
I don't have good news yet to give everyone. We are still working with our hosting to figure out what is causing the issue. They are exploring both the storage that hosts the database as well as the network connection to that storage. As for last night, we had 3 things happen at the same time that exasperated the problem worse than before. We have stopped some of these extra processes to help keep the stats running. Thanks, -Uplinger |

The page you requested is currently unavailable because the statistics are being updated. The statistics update will finish in about 51 minutes 55 seconds . Doubly late tonight! ![]() |

My post was related to the unfair comments related to the possible "laziness" of the tech team. I always strongly advocate for investigating IT troubles as soon as they occur, since I did never experience that such problems resolved themselves on their own. Could it be that the graphs did not update?
As I see it, the graphs for Base Camp's present host team Christians did not move since yesterday which they certainly should do considered the influx of Base Campers |
