We are still working on this. We exploring the commands that are used during the stats run that are taking too long. We have done an examination of the configuration of the data base server to see if we crossed a threshold and adjusted some of the memory usage requirements. We made that change on either Thursday or Friday, however, we needed to wait for end of day stats to see if that helped and it does not appear that over the weekend it did. But in the meantime we captured stats on what was running and are going over the logs now.

It seems to be somewhat better today, an 1 1/2h after the cutoff, it now shows the updated stats on the "My Contribution" page, though it shows them updated 13h ago...

There's no 'if'. The nightly was done in under an hour. Go back and examine the change you made just before the calamity showed. The forums will tell you when that was.
