I am having trouble with my computer fetching new tasks on WCG. Normally, whenever I have a problem with WCG, it is because I have inadvertently hit something in my settings that changed what I had previously set. I checked the’no new tasks’ tab, and it is fine. I’m at a loss to explain why am not fetching any more new tasks. Can anyone shed some light on this issue? Any information will be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

Just an update:The dialog box claimed my communications are continuously deferred. In other words, I hit 'update' to try to elicit a response for new work, but it quickly claims the communication is deferred. I have checked my network settings and they seem fine. Any ideas as to why this is happening?

Check the mesage log - <CTRL>,<SHIFT>,E for messages about asking for work and response.
----------------------------------------Select WCG in Projects tab and press update button if reqd. Check work selection on WCG site. Post back if still stuck, with messages from log etc. Paul.

By the by, even though I have my GPU settings set to off, the event log claims it is continually looking for GPU computations. What's that all about?

Yes, event log.
----------------------------------------May be worth re-starting BOINC or re-boot PC then post event log lines from start to first response to work request. (I use BOINCTasks rather than BOINC manager most of the time). Paul.

I'll reboot then and start WGC all over again and post what the event log says. This behavior is very strange and I've never encountered it before. BRB

As you can see from the last two lines, it's simply not fetching new tasks. I have no idea why it's behaving this way. It's almost as if it wants to run only on the GPU, (which is called an Intel GPU!) even though I have that set to off. Very strange!

Requesting new tasks for intel_gpu
----------------------------------------You only appear to be asking for GPU work and WCG has none. Check YES is set for following option: Allow research to run on my CPU? Paul.
