Another point to look at is that with 98% of project experiments complete in the (1379-1769) range that leaves 2% of work units to be crunched, which translates to 2,029,500 work units.
Over the last 10 days the project had crunched an average of 238,200 work units per day, which indicated it would take 8.5 days to crunch the remaining 2,029,500 work units. This would put the end of the experiment set at around December 19th. Let's watch and see what happens. Will the work unit well run dry at that time or new set of experiments flow ? Will be interesting to see. |

I think we will run out sooner, as this reflects units already returned to scientists.

Looks like we might have already run out. I have this PC set to run 3 at a time and only have 1 running and it is a resend. Getting the "no tasks available" message.
----------------------------------------Edit: Looks like I spoke too soon. I just got 2 more which means I am running 3 out of 3. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Seoulpowergrid at Dec 11, 2018 1:18:08 AM] |

Just got a work unit with iteration 184 , that's the highest number I have ever seen to date . Does anyoneone know if the project is supposed to go to iteration 200 for each of the experimental units ?

The target was originally 250, but they lowered it to 150 earlier this year because progress was moving more slowly than they had expected and I think they figured they could get all they needed at that point. This is why the percentage jumped abruptly a couple of months ago. It's also why the 50,000 step tasks ended earlier than anticipated. I think we will continue to get iterations of tasks past the target point until they decide to stop. I'm guessing they're waiting for all, or most tasks to get past iteration 150 before they do that.

That makes sense, now that I went back to the 9/25/2018 post on this board from jcxia - FightAIDS@Home Scientist. The scientist wrote "We changed the original design of 2.5 million steps per replica to 1.5 so that we can finish the benchmark faster." So that would translate going down from 250 iterations to 150 iterations.

Still getting non-resend units in that number range on a regular basis. I thought their number lagged the grid. Must be a rounding error...

I'm still getting work units as well despite project website showing 100 % complete for experiments 1319-1769... anyone have any information on what is going on ??
Many of the units are below the iteration 150. |

Greetings,
We are still running workunits for those batches. We are also currently testing the new workunits that will be coming in the future. The batches in question being 100% complete happened because some of the children workunits made it further along in the simulations than other children. Say you wanted to get 100 children run, and some have run up to 120, but others are at 80. On average, you've done 100 children. Hope this helps clear up some of the confusion and we will let you know when we stop that current simulation. Thanks, -Uplinger |
