I tried to reproduce this issue, and could not. I joined the 'Function of NDRG1' team challenge, which was on the last page of current challenges listed. I then hit the back button from the team challenge details page and was able to see the correct display of page numbers at the top.

Are you able to reproduce this issue again? If so, let me know.

The last challenge listed is the 'Keep Crushing Childhood Cancer' challenge, and it does not accept late entrants...so I could not test joining that specific team challenge.

@keithhenry, is that the team challenge you joined when you ran in to this issue?
