BTW, how about you set the mean times to be computed over a much longer period and err on the long side at that? (Seem to remember one of you wrote something about this)

Sek,
We do not plan on enabling the DCF anytime soon on our servers. We will look into it when time allows. As for doing the computed time over a longer period of time, that is basically what we're doing, but again, it's reactive. The science is unknown, thus the sizes can't be 100% accurate. If I set the average fpops to the overall runtime for the project, you would argue that is too long of a period. We attempt to estimate to the best of our knowledge and unfortunately with unknowns in the mix, it is a best guess. Thanks, -Uplinger |

Just asking: Is there any reason, why one of my computers (mac mini i5 2.3 GHz on boinc 7.6.34) only gets rigid WUs and, when running out of them, is declined to receive the very small (i suppose flex) WUs?
----------------------------------------When that happens there is a note in the log saying "no tasks are available for the applications you selected". ??? This only happens after i updated from 7.6.33 and only on that machine. Thanx, jrp [Edit 2 times, last edit by jayrope at Apr 27, 2017 8:00:41 PM] |
