BREXIT

Wow,
didn't think they would actually do it.
I wonder if this will cause a domino effect.
British pound went from 1.5 USD to as low as 1.35

So, USD gold up $67 (on Asian markets) 5.4%
Canadian dollar up $122.... 7.6%

Ok, so something stinks $67 US should be $87 can not 122....
Bought 4 ounces of gold a week ago :D

So apparently London would have been more heavily in the remain camp,
and it RAINED too much so they didn't get out the vote.
they remained at home lol...

P.S. I don't have a side in this, they weren't full members anyway.
Sux for the British people, first BP crashed hurting a lot of pensioners,
now this.

May you live in interesting times... we certainly do

Re: BREXIT

Not really surprised. The rigged markets will use this to shake out the week kneed. US futures down 600 at 7 EST. Not surprised there either. It's been way overvalued anyway IMHO. Best 3 commodities to accumulate now are food, water and ammunition.
What was it that Bob Dylan said? Oh yea, "Times, they are a changin".

Re: BREXIT

"What I'm thrilled about actually is subliminally, almost unconsciously, the great British public have put their democratic freedom ahead of money and the establishment elite has had a kicking. Whether the establishment are trade unions or big business or ministers or Brussels or the markets - every one of them tried to frighten the living daylights out of Britain for about eight weeks. And the British public sort of quietly went about their business and went into a secret ballot box and said: 'Do you know what? I like electing my leaders - I don't like actually being told what to do by an unelected, unaccountable people, so I'm going to get out of that lot, and if it costs me a few bob for a couple of years so be it'. And I say well done to them."
"UK has "a great relationship" with all the EU nations - it just doesn't like the EU itself."
ultimately "our grandchildren will say thank you".

former CBI chief Digby Jones

I went to the ballot box with my eyes wide open

I've been seeing so much news, listening to the radio, reading the stuff on the web, including this. My view now is...we are where we are, infighting, name calling, recriminations and arguments are not helping. the critical thing for the country and everyone in it is to start looking forward with a positive "can do" attitude.

It's change and change is scary, usually though changes in my life which may have seemed bad at the time have always worked out for the best....as long as you deal with it in a positive way. Many people feel like victims at the moment (a hostage to circumstance), but that's not going to help us move forward.

We now need to move this forward as as fast as we can.

We should also consider getting rid of all the politicians unable to do this.

Re: BREXIT

The UK’s vote to leave the European Union sent the British pound plummeting nearly 10 percent Friday.

Re: BREXIT

The opening poster asked as to whether this'll have a domino effect - well, it's already happening...

Goodness knows why the "intelligencia" of the UK Government didn't set any prior requirements for this referendum (i.e., a certain percentage of the whole voting population to turn out and/or a certain percentage to be reached before the result became enforcable), after all, if they wanted to, they could have very easily just looked north of the English border to Scotland's referendum in 2014 as an example. For those not in the know, for that referendum, there was a 84.6% turnout with a 55.3% to 44.7% vote to stay in the UK - yet, ever since, the loosing side (i.e., those on the Scottish Independance side), have been pressing for another referendum (i.e., a 10% margin wasn't enough to resolve the issue).

Now, on the UK Goverment's website, there's a petition that has already (as of the time of this post), received over 2.7 million signatures (remembering, that the Brexit side won by 1,269,501 votes) to have a second EU referendum. Also, as well as there being strong talk of a second Scottish Referendum (to leave the UK and hopefully, to stay in the EU), there's yet another petition on the Change.org website with (currently) over 160,000 signatures to try and get the London Mayor Sadiq Khan to "Declare London independent from the UK and apply to join the EU." (London, being one area of the UK to vote to remain in the EU).

Furthermore, there have been talk of there being a referendum in Ireland (i.e., Eire/Northern Ireland), about them becoming one country - and thereby eliminating the potential of having cross border checks reintroduced.

Oh my, we do live in "interesting times"...

Re: BREXIT

Brexit....

This evil event impacts a huge amount of financial damage for me. I can not keep continuing paying for electricity about $250/month to donate this project.

I have been running my machines for this project more than 10 years but end seems to come.

Thank you Rob and Uplinger for your support. I will keep running my rigs at the end of this June. I don't mean I will shut my rigs down at the end of this month but will stop getting new WUs. So there will be my foot stumps for a couple of weeks after the July.

If the financial environment get well in some day, It is possible to come back again. However, I am not so optimistic.

Thanks a lot to every one supporting me crying .

Kiyo.
