Re: BREXIT

Maybe I'm wrong but, I heard the UK was the 3rd largest payer into the EU and got less in return than paid in.

So I think the pound will rise rather fast compared to the Euro.

But again I may be wrong.

UK will have to regulate the customs to other members of a "non Commonwealth countries" in Europe...so the trade will go down also!

Don't expect the Pound to be back at it's feet any time soon!

p.s. that is how EU works...you pay in & you try to pay out...some other parts of EU get more to equal the paychecks & differences...so we won't have "exodus to Germany", like it's been! But that essentially what USA never got right, by giving a "food for hungry" - wrong approach...EU is teaching people how to (metaphor) "make food", not to be poor!

Re: BREXIT

Classic, Boris Johnson just made a statement he's -not- available for the #10 position [I mean the number at Downing Street ;] . Maybe Nigel Ravage could switch party and stand candidate, though I believe, the ballot list is closed now.

edit: It seems Michael Gove played a long cloak and a quick dagger game on Boris... watch your allies' agenda ;P

Re: BREXIT

IMHO no one will have to worry about the EU in the years to come because if things keep progressing as they are now Muslims will be the majority population in most if not all the EU by then. Who knows how many radicals are embedded with all the refugees and how many more already there will become radicalized as they spread their hate.

Re: BREXIT

As seen in the US, they can spread their hate from afar to non-refugees.

Re: BREXIT

And now Nigel Ravage has stood down too "done my bit", and sure he did. He is still a MEP, member of European Parliament, "the mole inside", so to speak: http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-36702468

Seems since the Brexit vote, 2,000 billion in market value was destroyed... and many pension fund investors scratching their heads how to make that up again and Amsterdam and Paris lobbying the financial circuit "come on over"... you can be here too and not be stuck in Heathrow/Stansted traffic ;O)

Re: BREXIT

The European Union has ratified its 2018 budget, totaling €160.1 billion ($188.5 billion) in commitments which, according to the Anadolu Post, is an increase of 0.2 percent from 2017. The Post reports that “The biggest portion of the budget – €11.2 billion – will be allocated to the EU’s research and innovation programs; this is an increase of 8.4 percent compared to 2017.”

However, the EU is also known for wasting taxpayer money on things that don’t really make much sense, which makes you wonder exactly what it means by “research and innovation programs.” In fact, Britain recently gave €177 million to the EU to spend on “aid projects” that included yoga classes in India, juggling lessons in Tanzania, and help for Caribbean coconut farmers. With spending habits like this, it’s no wonder Brexit is happening. Here are some more examples of wasteful EU spending.

RoDyMan, a robot that can make pizza, is a five-year project that is funded with €2.5 million in grants from the European Research Council, an EU agency that funds scientific and technological research.
In 2015, the EU launched the European Union Emergency Trust Fund for Africa which was projected to cost €2.96 billion for projects aimed at managing and reducing migration from more than 25 countries.
The European Parliament requested a €1.5 million transfer for its translation budget to ward off a total of €3.7 million of overspending on top of the €8.2 million budget this year, to provide translations for reports (the largest expense being Irish) and for a “vanity” website.
The EU chief spent more than “€2,500 a head” on return flights that the European Commission tried to keep secret. Documents revealed the EU’s 27 Commissioners (besides Britain) spent €452,000 on travel expenses in January and February 2016 alone.
The EU spent up to €90,000 on a bizarre SimCity-style computer game to teach kids about taxes.

The Eurozone’s overall level of government debt is currently over 89 percent of GDP.
