Which work buffer? Both!!! But we will keep it simple. Set both to the same number (see above). |

I cannot find a work buffer - let alone two!
I'm afraid I have a 'light' version without adjustable buffers - some sort of discount edition My version is 7.2.47 (x86) - is yours too? If you were wise, you just gave me a black lung badge and go watch another mermaid interview show before you get real mad at me |

So why did you ask Which work buffer?
----------------------------------------My version is 7.2.47 (x86) - is yours too? Yep, same version. ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by BladeD at Apr 28, 2018 11:12:14 PM] |

Yep, same version. Mine must be a 'lemon' a faulty one, the ones they make on Mondays. So why did you ask Which work buffer? Because I see no 'work buffer'. Could be because the Sandman was here. Could be the fact that you stare yourself blind. I'll sleep on it - maybe rested eyes can find a work buffer. If we survive this, we could/might - which is the better? - remain friends for a long time .... |

...and know what it is. I think I have an idea of queue and work buffer - it's the finding the thing that's my current problem, BladeD. Great idea! Thank you. ![]() See, you don't leave a task half finished Are you sure we should resume this since I'm quite happy as it is? I should never have asked - I should have conferred with my amygdala that would have brought up the TLD Collatz experience ![]() EDIT: Confered -> conferred EDIT II: amygdala spelling corrected [Edit 2 times, last edit by Former Member at Apr 29, 2018 9:26:52 AM] |

Now I understand your confusion, BladeD. And your exlamation: So why did you ask Which work buffer? You see, something got lost in translation.'which' presupposes a choice between at least two possibilities which is not built-in into 'what' they taught me. My language doesn't really distinguish that clearly - it's a quite simple language spoken by some primitive northern tribe which adriverhoef saw pretty fast upon the start of my Dutch lessons and at the wee hours, one's acuteness tends to slip. By 'which' I meant 'what' in this case, not knowing that I'm supposed to run around with more than one of these. This morning I have looked at the Tools/Computing preferences hoping to meet one work buffer as a minimum. I found that I could ask my laptop to compute while on batteries and I successfully reduced the idle time before computing from 3.00 minutes to 0.01 - you know having this tendency to talk ... But no work buffer is to be seen as I see it. But I have an Ebola at 28:20:42 which has 11:58:25 left. Can you beat that? Maybe I talk too much! As to TB? I noticed Marc-Uedem got one which/what made him very happy. He hasn't turned his attention to the SNURK sign management for which/what you gave him directions yet, tho' Oh, I forgot: As to TB? I would much rather be friends |

I would much rather be friends Why not both? I think I see what the problem is... Under preferences, there are 4 tabs. the work buffers (min/max) are under the network usage tab. So... In your preferences, set work buffers to 1 day. After your queue is filled, change settings to get only Help Stop TB WUs. In your preferences, set work buffers to 2 or more days. ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by BladeD at Apr 29, 2018 8:15:30 AM] |

Why not both? That would be an ideal setting - I'll give that a check mark ![]() - fly leg - we call those: fly legs You managed to sharpen my greed and fighting spirit again Later today I’ll work through the discussions we had see what/which hurdles I bump into. This fiddling with work queues and buffers, doesn’t that take a lot of attention and/or time? |

Easier way is to set the buffer to a day, choose HSTB & FAAH2 only.
----------------------------------------The computer will only download the number of FAAH2 WUs that your computer has cores, and will request HSTB WUs when available. The computer is happy crunching FAAH2 WUs with a deadline of 1 day. Other option is to do what Blade suggested. Or if you want to edit code, do what others have done with XML files. My way, I can adjust what my computer crunches while I'm away. Usually at the weekend, I set it to crunch other WUs. ![]() |
