KLiK, methinks you may have posted in the wrong Beta issues thread - as this is for the new "HST" project that's coming down the line...

It seems this app or something changed my setting from checkpoint every 7200 seconds to every 7 seconds. Not happy about that. Did it on all 8 machines. What good are settings if an app can override them without user knowledge/input. Are you sure you didn't typed 7,200/7.200 in stead of 7200?? 100% sure.

Speculation warning: It used to be the maximum seconds WtD setting was 999 [nearly 17 minutes]. It may well be the app is misreading the value [could also be a bug in the client reading/storing the value], so it possibly sees Mercan 7.2 seconds

The reason I increased it to 7200 is because I was running multiple tasks on some machine and wanted to further restrict the WTD

Thanks to all the beta testers some good feedback so far. We honor the WTD setting but it is correct in pointing out the application still writes the state file even if a checkpoint is not taken. We will fix this so it only writes the state file if it is time for a checkpoint. Look for this in the next version.
Nanoprobe to my knowledge there is no way for an app to change client settings. Have you recently updated any of your clients? Thanks, armstrdj |

Then it's very probably a bug and nothing of the incredulity nature in "What good are settings if an app can override them without user knowledge/input."
----------------------------------------Some projects entirely ignore WtD such as CEP2 does [yes it's so, just as many as there are jobs in a task, for good reason]! Some projects have not even implemented listening to the WtD or don't do at all, elsewhere, [As the OET1 originally also did IIRC, and had 8 of them forced in at great programming effort] [Edit 1 times, last edit by SekeRob* at Feb 26, 2016 3:12:36 PM] |

These babies are heading for 27-28 hours if extrapolating from 17% after 5. The fraction setting seems to work for this app, very exact TTC I'm getting if comparing client projections with the calculator output. That's going to be 3-4 hours longer than FAH2 on this machine ... No fanboy of the > natural day tasks.

On the WtD issue of 7200, look in both global_prefs.xml and global_prefs_override.xml how <disk_interval>360.000000</disk_interval> is stored. 6 decimal, and always a point, never a comma as decimal sign [no matter the locale]. If there is a comma, it could as noted be misconstrued as representing a decimal sign.

Nanoprobe to my knowledge there is no way for an app to change client settings. Have you recently updated any of your clients? Thanks, armstrdj I know it sounds strange but it did happen but after rechecking it only did it on my dual socket machines and not the single CPU machines. (*brain cramp*) None have been recently updated.

I vote for "Help Stop Taxes". Another "T" that comes to my mind is "Trump". Where is the oversized like button? Ralf |
