Don't like doing it, but manually started 2 with a 6 minute WTD. No checkpoint at 5, so expect it to show when 10 is reached.
Have to run... |

Increased the checkpoint interval to 10 minutes and restarted the tasks.
Have to be careful with LAIM on/off because of a running CEP2 ![]() The checkpoints are written every 10 minutes, but the 3MB state files are written every 5 minutes. BTW: CPU-efficiency 99,3% |

The app only reads the setting during (re)start i.e. changing the setting on-the-fly does not work. I prefer 10-15 minutes WTD setting to reduce disk hitting. It seems this app or something changed my setting from checkpoint every 7200 seconds to every 7 seconds. Not happy about that. Did it on all 8 machines. What good are settings if an app can override them without user knowledge/input.
In 1969 I took an oath to defend and protect the U S Constitution against all enemies, both foreign and Domestic. There was no expiration date.

BTW: CPU-efficiency 99,3% [No I'm not Arnold], I'm back, and the 6 minutes led indeed to 10 minute intervals... it's always the next programmed checkpoint, logged in this case. The 5 minute writing non-the-less is no good... we(I) want full adherence on the write control, that's why it's called Write to Disk. ![]() |

When experimenting with LAIM, I just switch it off, then suspend the target test app [to indeed avoid the CEP2 get a kick in the progress teeth]. Then if the test-app does not unload, the next step is stopping BOINC, to make sure we have no zombie/orphan prog.

Also added <fraction_done_exact/> for beta22 to the app_config and re-read to see if the TTC made any jump, forward or backward, but there was not i.e. the TTC seems to be reasonably close [after 1.5 hours], or it has entirely no effect. We'll see if it hits 80-90% if the projection is close the end time. These babies project to run over 24 hours on my octo laptop [at 2Ghz].

Weird, is it 5 minute 'Elapsed' or 5 minute CPU time? Asking because after 1:37 hours see 10 checkpoints being logged with 1:47 hours elapsed. Means that even if you throttle, the interval will still be every 5 minutes on the clock.
----------------------------------------Watching watching, and yes at 1:50:03 elapsed the next 10 minute checkpoint was logged. [Edit 1 times, last edit by SekeRob* at Feb 26, 2016 12:18:37 PM] |
