Not here either. All systems running 100% cpu and 99+% efficiency.

Is anyone else seeing low CPU usage? On my dual Xeon E5-4667 v3 setup (32c/64t) I normally see a 15-minute load average (as reported by the 'uptime' command in Linux) of about 68 or 69. Last night while this system was running almost entirely FAAH-Beta WUs, the load average was much lower--about 40 or so. I opened up System Monitor to see indeed that a bunch of the vCPUs were bouncing around, often hitting as low as 10% activity. RAM usage wasn't a problem--I was only at about 4.5GB of 8GB in the system (and BOINC is told that it can use up to 80% of the RAM the computer has). must be some "narrow port"...suspects: - FSB chip-set throughput - RAM throughput - HDD/SSD I/O maybe u shouldn't run only FAHB on all 64t?! |

Not here. According to Boinctasks all 3 rigs running 16c/32t E5's are above 99%. results suggest each thread is losing 3mins over 16 hrs on 1st, about 10 mins in 23 hours on 2nd and less on 3rd This is running Linux Mint 17.n and with <no_priority_change> set in order to let the kernel do the scheduling Thanks. That's pretty similar to my setup in terms of the time lost and CPU usage. Same OS too. I'll see how the CPU usage ends up during the production WUs. I don't have enough RAM to run nothing but FAAH2 (64 WUs @ 130MB each = >8GB by itself) but it should be able to do a mix of OET and FAAH2. Is anyone else seeing low CPU usage? It's not only FAAH2. It was a lot of Beta FAAH WUs (~40? 45?) but consistently OET too. And I've seen full CPU usage even on systems with IO/RAM bottlenecks running CEP2 so those explanations don't make any sense. My last 2 WUs have finally uploaded. They were both marked as unusable in my log, but are listed as valid.
To top it off, I am still 2 days short of my bronze badge. Missed it by that much! |

Missed it by that much! d project has just started...so as some admins have told us, after 9 WUs valid from another projects, u will become reliable (device) cruncher again! EDIT: there'll soon be another BETAs... ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by KLiK at Oct 13, 2015 6:39:33 AM] |

This version has been promoted to production. After doing some initial internal testing we are seeing slightly better performance on Linux versus Windows on identical workunits on the same host. We will continue to do further testing as well as monitor the new runtime averages in production to see if further updates are needed. Thanks to all the beta testers.
Thanks, armstrdj |
