Re: New Beta Test for PC - September 18, 2015 [ Issues Thread ]

About to send more out, got a few trickle messages back. So good news :)

Thanks,
-Uplinger

Good news would also be when doubling the cpu time after suspend (LAIM off) or BOINC restart is fixed too.
I don't take the risk to test that yet. Will do tomorrow morning when they are at 90% biggrin

The double CPU fix was implemented in version 7.14 of the application. So we should be good from that standpoint.

I noticed some tasks have ls in the name. Should there be any concern about those failing because those were problem WUs yesterday?

nanoprobe,

No, the ls stands is an identifier for the researchers to know which batches have a lambda change over the course of the 3million steps. So far what I'm seeing is a few bad apples. At the moment it's still investigation stage. We are seeing lots of valid trickle messages coming back at the moment.

Thanks,

Having missed out on the first round of error infested Beta WU's, I've just snagged one FAHB_avx from the latest batch - been running for 12 mins and all is progressing well, so far......!!

Re: New Beta Test for PC - September 18, 2015 [ Issues Thread ]

(12) completed and PV.

Results look rather strange?

All have 0.00 for CPU time
Some have 0.00 for run time
Some have 0.0 for Pts Claimed
Those that have Pts Claimed all have the same value

All have only the wu name in the result log

Re: New Beta Test for PC - September 18, 2015 [ Issues Thread ]

foxfire,

Your computer did something strange and I adjusted the rules because of it. Basically, your computer sent back the trickle message but did not upload the result file which is required for validation until after the cutoff time of 30 minutes. This caused the result to be marked as ready for validation. So here are the steps that happened for some of your results.

1. Trickle message sent from your computer
2. trickle handler attempted to validate that checkpoint for over 30 minutes
3. Trickle message sent TO your computer to stop now. Your computer stopped working on that result once received.
4. Your results uploaded the files for that checkpoint
5. Trickle handler validated that step. (thus points granted)

I have adjusted that 30 minutes to be larger up to 3 hours.

As for the results without points or CPU time, I assume they are still waiting for the trickle message and uploaded file to be validated.

Thanks,
-Uplinger
