Maybe they should just take all remaining tasks and send them out to 5 computers. No need for additional resends or waiting. Take the first result (the other can still receive credit though) and get the project completed. It would take very little computing time to get them done. No Android devices are allowed and any device they sent them too has to have a history of quick turnarounds and valid results. & d 1 of those computers would have to be server from IBM...so it's a piece of cake to do it! just crunch the data & finished... it's a month now from projected finish...still no sign of END of project...still on 99%! |

Previously 22 result returned and now 0.
----------------------------------------I think its the penny wise pound foolish thing - to handle stuff like that is too micro managing. Since WCG already set up the way it was right from the start, the scientist and team are better off working on the research itself. Just let the 'grid' do its job automatically. |

for a few days now, we have 100% completion of project...& still it's in the "active research" page...how come?
----------------------------------------isn't a 100% completion indication of going to "completed research"! ![]() |

The project is not complete until the fat lady sings, as was stated before! There are multiple possibles to include Intermittent state.

Today after a week of silence, 13 lost WUs have been returned. Wondering how many are there still out..

We still have stopped sending out all new work. Any work that is coming out are either old results that needed to be cleaned up from the database. We are also checking to make sure that all results files are returned to the researchers. So members may see very few results as we clean things up. If a larger amount of work is to come out due to the cleanup, we will let you know.
Thanks, -Uplinger |

Thanks for the feedback Keith. Does it mean there is still some new work available?

How to insert ambiguity in feedback "We still have stopped sending out all new work.". is there a hyphen missing between 'all' and 'new' as in 'all-new''. The word 'stopped' also infers an action, so the line reads as if you actively stopped sending out any all-new work.
![]() "If a larger amount of work is to come out due to the cleanup,"... just home-in on this item to verify: Was experiment 165-166 computed, batches starting at 898901 and ending 908573? 38000 results in my single client job file [BOINC logs all jobs returned], but not one task has a number in there for the range. |

Sek, There was no action to stop sending new work, the grid ran dry of them. By all new, i meant work units for a new experiment. There is not a plan for that from the researchers. As for cleanup, we have the question out to the researchers to make sure that they have all the results on their side. If they consider experiments 165-166 complete, then we will not send out more work. If for some reason they have another 100 batches or something along those lines because those experiments were missed, then we will let you know. The other part of the cleanup is some results go all the way to error status, and we need to rerun them on the grid, there were only a handful that I scheduled to resend recently as part of that clean up. Thanks, -Uplinger |
