Update notifications

I use Boinc 7.2.47 on Windows 7 x64. I'm tired of update notifications at start up. So I decided to configure cc_config.xml file as told in FAQ (http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=25784 ). It didn't work out. It seems like tag <client_download_url> works, but <client_version_check_url> does not. Can anyone help me with that?

Re: Update notifications

It worked and it didn't, so have updated the version check url to get the correct xml. (WCG overhauled the website nearly 2 years ago, but the FAQ was never checked to see if things were still working).

It used to be if you clean installed with the WCG skinned version, the cc_config would already be populated to point at the WCG urls, not those that are hardcoded into the BOINC client. Upgrades to the next WCG version would leave the cc_config untouched. Maybe that changed?

Re: Update notifications

It wasn't clean install, it was update from original BOINC client. Can you write the right urls, please?

Re: Update notifications

I forgot to tell that I tried to leave that tag empty, but it used initial BOINC url. So there is no way not to check updates?
