Now why did I not change the unireversal polish algorithm in my database that feeds Thé Dashboard ;?

200 batches which will be monsters . Well, what should we imagine in that ? 6 hour job 24 hours per unit .. or more ??
And if they gonna be really that monsters, wouldnt make more sense to run them now. cause if time period for them gonna be really long, there will a lot of them who wont manage to send them back in time, so there will be resends . Why prolong running of the project, when we can do monsters now |

The end is not postponed, thinking it was clear, the cutoff of the Android platform is postponed.

Thanks Keith for that extra information. I can now rest a little easier, knowing that it looks like I'll have plenty of time to reach my goal.

Thanks for the update, uplinger. Glad to hear that there will still be work for androids for months to come. And thanks for taking time away from HST and the site work to give us these updates.

Greetings, Our estimates are based off the average number of batches loaded into BOINC for the past 30 days. Currently we are averaging 46 batches loaded per day. We also take the total number of batches BOINC estimated to run for the project, currently 5463 for OET1. Then to determine how many days are left, we subtract total number of batches Loaded and Completed from that estimate and divide by average batches loaded per day. As of the other day that was 59 days left of work. The rate at which batches loads is based on how fast things are being run on the grid as well as how many work units are inside a given batch. Before batch 1929, we were getting batches with 100k work units per batch. These work units were of flexible type which take longer to run. The newer batches are of ridged type and run faster. There are currently only 1k-2k work units packaged in a batch. From these two changes taking place, you can see that the estimate will speed up quickly. We always reach out and discuss with the researchers how many estimated batches they expect. Currently we do not have an estimated updated number of batches for OET1, thus the estimate appears to be correct of an end date around June 4th. If the estimated number of batches increases or we get more ridged work units before the end, then this estimate will change again. Thanks, -Uplinger then don't use last days/months for loaded batches! compute from the beginning of the project & you'll get a more accurate picture... ![]() ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by KLiK at Apr 10, 2016 9:09:22 PM] |

As long as the techs provide the total number of expected batches, you can calculate your own ECD without any help. If the batches aren't distributed consecutively, then it may require a little more tracking on your part and your estimate may be be a little "fuzzier" but it will still be a usable date for planning. As the techs learn of new batches, and assuming they share the information, just modify your ECD appropriately. No problem. If you don't like their date, don't use it.

OET has made it to 22K years run time, along with almost 135 million returned results. The Research Page shows 93% complete status , but the techs have received more information about the batches coming down the pipeline and that hopefully there will be plenty of OET for the rest of the year.
