Receiving error on new laptop set up with boinc

Hello all,

I am getting the following message on a couple of results:

<core_client_version>7.2.47</core_client_version>
<![CDATA[
<message>
too many exit(0)s
</message>
]]>

I have only noticed this now. I recently installed boinc on a new laptop (a lenovo, i5 processor) and let it run, but only now saw that this has been happening.

Another thing that I noticed is that for todays batch of errors I see that it was sent an hour before it was due.

For example:

Sent: Due date:
11/11/14 12:41:54 11/11/14 13:44:43

Those errors were made on 11th and the 10th.

Has anyone encountered this error before? This was for all projects and not for any specific one.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Receiving error on new laptop set up with boinc

Sent:
11/11/14 12:41:54
Due date/Return Time
11/11/14 13:44:43

Don't see anything back to the future like. The due time converts to the return time when a task is reported.

Too many exits equates to 100 times a task was restarted. Why? Could be the really new computer that came with really new, overzealous, av software. Set exception for the boinc data directory as printed in the agent event log and report back.

Re: Receiving error on new laptop set up with boinc

Hello Lavaflow, thank you for your reply.

When you say set exception for the boinc data directory it is this following line correct?

11/6/2014 6:18:34 PM | | Data directory: C:\Users\#####\Desktop\BOINC

Basically allow the av software to not block any connection coming into that directory?

The agent's datadir got installed to the users' desktop folder? Rather unconventional, but yes, that would be the path to exempt from scanning.
