You might also take into consideration that the i5-4690k and i5-4670k both have an integrated Intel GPU which the AMD doesn't have. It can be used for crunching on for example Einstein@home. It's not like a full blown GPU so don't expect the world from it, but it's like having an extra core. I plan on using a dedicated graphics card regardless of my final choice. But if I stick with I5, can Boinc make use of BOTH gpus at the same time? Edit: The only real advantage I see for the AMD here is if you were focused on badges. Since 8 cores increases badges quicker that 4, you can do that math. I like badges and I wish I had more stuff on me. Though if it means less actual work done, I'm willing to sacrifice my shiny chest for a better world.88w vs 95w is going to take a long time to see any advantage in savings considering the price difference in chips in most demographics. Energy costs 0,33665 My$/kWh. and 1 My$ = 2,5592 U$D. So cost is 0,86155468 U$D/kWh. Pretty costy, considering I run my pc 16/7. ![]() Want to have an image of yourself like this on? For the intel GPU to be recognized you need to install Intel graphics drivers to enable OpenCL support and have a monitor plugged into it, or a VGA dummy-plug. Here is how you make a dummy-plug.
