Hi folks - came back after quite a break from WCG (mostly due to the update I read about Android support!), and I re-installed BOINC on a few of my PCs as well. The challenge is my PCs when I checked yesterday were showing no tasks available and the Communication deferred message.
----------------------------------------Does anyone know if there is a known issue, or would it be a network problem at my end? I don't have any crazy network security - just a router and Windows Firewall. I added SETI project as well just to test and it was the same message. there is a known issue, related with a new user who has installed an immense amount of crunching power, who is sucking the feeder empty from time to time. But when SETI has the same problem, there might be an issue on your side as well. Can you post the content of your log-file?

Appreciate the thoughts, I'll try to figure this out over the weekend -- would like to get back into it, just hitting a couple road blocks (both this and Android)! :)

Mentioning android, in another thread parallel to this one -in the android forum- the comment was that fa@h may not have been selected in your device profile that's hooked to your mobile(s).

Just an update to this thread. I tried a laptop on another open network and same issue. Just states Communication deferred, and doesn't run any tasks.
I've also tried the remove/add of project -- didn't work. Hope this gets fixed soon. |

Not getting any the wiser, post a copy of the device profile linked to the laptop. Settings > device manager > click profile shown right of device list.
