My thoughts for doing what I described above are that it appears the data which is recorded is bad and starting with WCG as a new project may help to resolve the problem.

I did several things -
_ I downloaded BOINC 7.2.42 (x64) _ I installed this version of BOINC _ I did a Reset Project _ I did a Remove _ I added the WCG project (took several tries as either WCG unavailable or internet usage problem). I will continue with more information if I have any more problems. |

I have the same problem. Win7 Home Premium, i7-3770, 12GB. BOINC 7.2.33, which was downgraded from 7.2.42 about a week ago. Eight important updates pending installation.
----------------------------------------The reason I downgraded BOINC was that the screensaver functionality was behaving as if it was on acid. Rapid and immediate changes into the screensaver, between tasks screensavers. Downgrading solved that problem. ![]() |

I have reported this problem (this thread and another one for the same error) to the techs.

This is how the sched_reply file ends for me:
<workunit> Clearly incomplete with interspersed overload messages from the server suggesting the situation is worsening as more and more anxious are hitting update. Time outs breaking the connection before complete response? |

Running the traps, it showed the send part from client to server is getting through to include the ready to report. It's just the acknowledgements are not getting back properly. These are the 8 listed as awaiting reporting per the client but as can be seen they have already been, 2 even valid of the 7.29 model.

Eventually when a good reply succeeds it will probably tell it already had these tasks reported, moving into NMP mode. If this persists eventually the backup projects will be asked to occupy the idle threads as WCG work is not coming due the scheduler reply break. After doing the reset and remove for WCG followed by the add for WCG, I had two MCM WUs that ran all night (16+ hours each) and they uploaded about an hour ago. After both were in ready to report status, I did an update and both successfully were reported.
I don't know what the cause of the problem was, but I am back running again. |

My sched_reply file also has data missing at the end.

However, there are completed tasks showing ready to report and new work is NOT being downloaded. Increasing the queue size has no effect. About to run out of work on this i7.

In March 2007 the following change was made:
----------------------------------------- core client: when detach from a project, delete its sched_request, sched_reply, and master files That is why detaching from a project fixes the problem when the sched_reply file is corrupted. Not really wanting to detach but it is beginning to look like the only option.
