Please indicate why you consider a month worth of crunched WUs as "wasted". If I understood your post correctly, it seems to me as a month worth of contributed WUs. By "wasted" I mean "completely idle". My machines were doing this project and after the "temporary slowdown" lasted a month or two, I left them to do their thing. Once that dropped to zero, it was some time before I noticed and picked something else. |

There is always the 'if there is no work' option to mitigate the unattended idle time wastage. There's also zero weight/resource share backup projects from which work will be fetched externally to wcg, but not more than the number of active threads so no core idles.
We all make our choices, and then live them. |
