How about less than two hours? - African Climate
----------------------------------------Less than one day - Clean Energy With both of those one work unit would have pushed me over the top. Distributed computing volunteer since September 27, 2000 [Edit 2 times, last edit by KWSN - A Shrubbery at Oct 1, 2014 3:52:51 AM] |

Lucky that they chopped up the acah tasks in 10 parts, that is, you computed the whole but uploaded only a 10th of the result. That project would have lasted 3 cpu years instead of 33. Kind of a single quad in 9 months.
The sn2s news reads strange with 'World Community Grid involvement in this project is at an end'. Always thought there was follow up by wcg until a final result paper was produced off their projects. |

Hi lavaflow, yes we will be following with Rosangela on her project status as we do with all completed research projects. Thanks. Tedi |

My final stats: Say No to Schistosoma 1,627,802 4,841 0:284:13:23:02 - 80 days short of Green Badge 13 days short. 9 days short for DSFL. Oh well, it's not like anyone really notices anyway. The important thing is that <Western hero voice> "Our work here is done." |

That hurts noderaser, KWSN - A Shrubbery, Seoulpowergrid, FishKepr and others with such shorts, isn't it
----------------------------------------This is the only project I felt "somewhere in the middle of two badges", the other I managed quite precisely Never mind, keep crunching and Crunching@Home since January 13 2000. Shrubbing@Home since January 5 2006 |

Tedi Dear ma'am, you might want to consider a 4th project class, renaming the 'complete' to 'grid complete' and introducing a 'research complete' when it's truly done. This way we would instantly know which 'former' projects are finalized and on which we may expect loosely periodic updates. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Oct 1, 2014 5:23:43 PM] |

I tend to pick a project that I particularly like and just run it. I'd not been running this one terribly long before it dried up, resulting in maybe a month of wasted time. Now, a year after work ran out for an unspecified break, they finally work out they've finished with us? That seems very uncommunicative and disorganised of them.

...resulting in maybe a month of wasted time. Please indicate why you consider a month worth of crunched WUs as "wasted". If I understood your post correctly, it seems to me as a month worth of contributed WUs.Now, a year after work ran out for an unspecified break, they finally work out they've finished with us? These investigative efforts are not an exact science and many time the results take the scientists to unexpected results. It also takes a long to get and understand the results: for example, FAAH has been running since Nov 2005.That seems very uncommunicative and disorganised of them. Not sure about the organized part, but I do agree that the communication part does need to be improved from the scientists/investigators side on most the projects (I exclude CEP2, they seem to be well informed).CJSL Crunching for a better world... |
