I got this message today: "You have completed your registration successfully; however, our database reflects that you have not installed the World Community Grid software on a computer."
Actually, I did download the software and it's been running in my computer for almost four days, but my statistics say my total rank time (and points) is zero. My computer has Windows 8, so I was instructed to download the software from the Berkeley site. Is that the reason my stats are not showing? Is there a way to solve this? |

Check if you don't have a second account with a different name to talcaparisylondres . Read forums as it comes up about every fortnight.

? Go My Contribution > Result Status. Any tasks listed there? If your comp is working, that is the first verification step to see if work has actually been assigned.

Thanks for your responses. When I go My Contribution > Result Status, there's a long link, which leads me to other four links (status: in progress, 2 errors, 1 pending validation). My statistics are still stuck at zero, though, and I downloaded the software eight days ago.

Your Statistics are waiting for a work unit to be validated. You can follow this on Results Status. Also, you can see when you last returned a result to be validated.

But how long does this take? Scribe said "a couple of days." It's been eight. Shouldn't my stats by now show something other than a big fat zero?

Have you visited the My Contributions > Result Status page just before posting? Long as no tasks are listed as "Valid" there will not be any points on My Contribution. This page is only updated at 00:06UTC and 12:06UTC (You can sort results by clicking on headers and use filter at top to select what status you want to see)

Yes, of course, and above I wrote what it said right before I posted. It's still the same: 1 In progress, 2 errors (?) and 1 pending validation.
