Re: Ripple Labs

Johnnie: Sorry, I didn't see your post before. The point you make is valid for WCG as a whole, which is why I've always spoken only in terms of active users in that context.

It's not as valid with respect to the RL team though since that's only existed for about 3 months. WCG is going on 10 years though. So gradually the RL membership stats comparing all-time to active users will also become increasingly irrelevant, but I think given the short time the team has existed, it's a telling point.

http://foripple.com/

That website can be very useful.
It says how much XRP you have so far received, payouts pending, etc, for the WCG Giveaway.

Re: Ripple Labs

There's been a lot of comments about the numbers in the Ripple team declining, my thoughts are that those with few, small, less powerful machines are seeing such low returns they are not seeing a real benefit in being in the Ripple team.

Thus, they return to their former team or another team.

However, those of us with larger more powerful machines, see a good, steady increase of points, and corrispondingly, the increase of our XRP pot! So we stay.

So, the answer as I see it, dissapointment, is the reason lots of crunchers leave the Ripple team!

What do you guys think?

As I posted elsewhere, crunchers falling by the wayside has been happening since the launch of WCG and long before Ripple appeared on the scene. A casual look at the Global stats shows only ~16% of 649,000 users have stayed long enough to crunch 1 years RunTime.

twilyth suggests the possibilty of allocating XRPs based on computing hours rather than points. SekeRob's post and chart showing WCG hourly project credits highlights the current instablity of the Points/Credit system (particularly CEP2).
uplinger Jan 20 2014:
We will be taking a more in depth look at the new credit system when it is live. Please be patient as we work towards releasing the new code.

In the meantime anyone specifically crunching to obtains XRPs is better off giving CEP2 a wide berth.

Points correspond closer to actual work being done, if runtime were the chosen method, eveyone would get cheap a$$ CPUs like a 16 core 1 ghz, and just have really slow return rates but many hours racked up.

Re: Ripple Labs

I am just happy about having one my machines crunching for free.
If I receive about 25 XRP per day, I make more than 8 euros per month which is more than the 5.29 euros necessary to run my A8-5600K 4.0GHZ for 10 hours a day for 30 days (including the monitor, though it will soon run less with the semester starting). And the remainder helps pay for about 70% of my Phenom X3 720 with the monitor too for the same 10 hours a day.

Re: Ripple Labs

asquirrel, wait until tomorrow.
Points are distributed once a day.
You will need to gather at least 20 XRP to receive them in your Ripple wallet. After you do, you should get daily payouts.

Re: Ripple Labs

buzzz,

Go to the Ripple forums as you are more likely to get our issue solved there since it is a Ripple issue, not a WCG one.
