Re: Ripple Labs

Ok thanks, but that just links back into this thread. Can you give me some clear steps please...

Here is how I did it. First I joined the Ripple Labs team and registered at computingforgood.org and got a secret account key. Then (eight days later, for me), I went to the ripple.com "create a wallet" page. I created a username and passphrase, then at the very bottom there is this: "Need to use your Secret Key? Use Key". I clicked on that and put in my secret account key. This overwrote a previous old key (I had a previous aborted attempt to do this) and it linked the wallet to my WCG account.

When this was done I was able to immediately see my history and that I had been accumulating XRP since I had joined the Ripple Labs team and signed up at computingforgood.org eight days earlier. There was no delay, it was immediate. It showed all the XRP that I had been earning.

Note that you need to have accumulated at least 20 XRP before it shows up in your wallet. I is not necessary to otherwise fund your wallet to make this work.

The computingforgood.org stats page is inaccurate and can be many days behind.

This all seems unneccesarily complicated. But most of the Ripple folks already had a wallet set up so all they needed to do was download Boinc, add WCG, join Ripple Labs team, register at computingforgood.org and wait for WUs to validate. Many of them are as flummoxed by this as we are by wallets and XRP. There is a steep learning curve here for both the Boinc newbies and the Ripple newbies.

Re: Ripple Labs

Hi Jon
I'm not sure if you received my last reply so I'm sending it again.
My Ripple Address is:
ranrUP3TQxMLDMqptURaZBhxKLjs8KYT67

I hope you can help me figure out why I'm not receiving any XRP.
(remember I originally signed on under the name williamt22 years ago. However I forgot my user name after an absence of a few years and signed on again in Nov 2013 under the name Laredo Tornado....but later remembered I originally used williamt22 so I switched back to the original name)

Re: Ripple Labs

Well, after much deliberation I'm going to use my other acount (a mate borrowed it, now I have it back) to join Ripple for a while to see if it is all it's made out to be. I'm going to put one of my big machines on that account and crunch away and watch things develop.

Can someone start me off please? Need 25 or more sent to

r4nSzE52CE6hkHk629fyoyBVNhRqjr7La3

I'll repay once I have some in the pot!

Many thanks

Payment of 25 XRP's sent.
Returned with greatfull thanks!

242 XRP from 1 day on 1 machine! not bad...

Re: Ripple Labs

So now I'm getting XRP, how do I do 2 things?
1 - see a value in pounds sterling
2 - convert XRP to cash to move to the bank

I dont want to remove any just yet, but I need to know how.

Also, how do get one of those XRP tags in the sign file?

Re: Ripple Labs

You can get quotes at this site for various currencies on a variety of exchanges. You'll see something like BTC:Bitstamp. I think that means price of a BTC in XRPs followed by the name of the exchange where that price was seen.

As for converting, you can do that at a variety of exchanges. Not sure how you create an account at an exchange or what you need to do that, but I've read others here have done it.

I would expect that there is a commission or fee of some kind.

@ Mamajuana

Just looking from the sidelines, can you satisfy my curiosity? Your 1 machine returned 30DaysRT/80,076Pts/101Res yesterday and that equates to 242XRP?

And when you workout the exchange mechanusm, what does 242XRP equal in GBP?

Re: Ripple Labs

Right now, 242 XRP are worth £0.69. It has been pretty low for a while.
You are better off trading XRP for USD or EUR or even BTC:
