Beta should be high priority in some sense of the terminology.

1. If you have beta selected, and you try to receive work when a beta work unit is on the feeder, then that work unit will get sent to you before normal work. Note: the feeder only has X number of slots filled every Y seconds. So say there are 10 work units for X and it loads every Y seconds, then if there is a request for 11 tasks only the 10 will get sent out and the 11th will get a normal work unit based on your project preferences.

2. Since we put such short deadlines on these work units, they should get bumped up in your queue for BOINC to process on your computer. If your computer is almost done with another work unit, it will probably finish that one first.

Generally, BETA results do not get migrated off the live database until a test is complete. This means, long as these are showing on the Result Status page, credit will be granted for work that technically is too late [but not of your fault]. When reporting, the No Reply will usually convert to Valid, if valid of course.

In production, the grace period is about 24 hours. That's kind of the common period that quorum complete results stay on. Once results are migrated to the master database, there's nothing to validate against, so then a late result is truly too late. The newer clients actually have a mechanism to do away with overdue-overdue results, long as they've not started. Client and server need to interact for this. Computing offline blocks/interferes with that mechanism.

Running 2 WUs on one computer. Still seeing "lost" time on one thread, though not as much as in the past, but I am only 20% in so far.

Restarted both (without LAIM) without incident.
