I don't think so. Even if it was, there's not enough WUs.
----------------------------------------But I did get one for an unused thread. ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by BladeD at Nov 14, 2013 8:31:40 PM] |

Maybe I should just start the question again: Is it possible to download more than one work unit per thread (i..e. a cache of beta work units)? Nope Cheers Crunching@Home since January 13 2000. Shrubbing@Home since January 5 2006 |

Maybe I should just start the question again: Is it possible to download more than one work unit per thread (i..e. a cache of beta work units)? The answer was inferred, but -No-, the longer standing policy is 1 Beta task per BOINC permitted thread. With just 24 hours [maybe a hint of a desire to launch production ASAP] and runtimes seen, my longest was 15 hours on a medium fast host, it would be a fools errant to deviate from that policy. Complete, return and get a new one. Since the deadline is 24 hours and HP processing, the reporting will be automatically shortly after the result files have uploaded completely. edit: The most recent reconfirmation of the BETA work assignment policy, then extended to include GPU was from March 2012 by knreed, shortly after implementation of server v700: 1) CPU, 1 per [BOINC permitted] thread/core (splitting hairs ;) 2) GPU, 4 per GPU [BOINC permitted]. The original policy of 2006 discusses reasons for limitation such as there being cyclers [locking in all copies to a platform] and wanting to get as many different devices involved for maximum bug revealing. 7.26 Beta - Mapping Cancer Markers D6-i7 BETA_MCM1_0000000_8770_1 00:06:19 (00:00:03) 0.8 0.500 03:58:09 11/15/2013 12:14:39 PM Running High P. World Community Grid This is with Boinc 7.0.27 on Ubuntu. Suspended and restarted (LAIM on) no help. I'm letting it run and see if something breaks loose. Edit again: Running as a service. All of my machines are as service. For a task to rekick, LAIM really has to be off, so the task can unload and regroup [that period uplinger discussed setting up the model]. Got 14 spread over W7-32 user, W7-64 service, Ubu 13.10 daemon, happily checkpointing away. Elapsed and CPU track closely, some already pointing at 10% to go for 15 hours, these being of batch 0000000, all 14 are. Two days ago installed ClamAV on the Ubu box with an automatic signature updating. No UFW active. |

First download batch on Ubuntu machine reported download failed!
----------------------------------------This is one of my FX8350x8 machines Ubuntu 13.1/16Gb ADSL Download = 120Mb so that should not be an issue... Log available if of any use. Edit - corrected typo

These wu's are very nicely sized now. About 4 hours each for me. No large and small chunks.

These wu's are very nicely sized now. About 4 hours each for me. No large and small chunks. Looks different for me DM. Have 6 on one machine that all have the same amount of run time(3 1/2 hours) but completions are from 59%-99%. Other machines are spread out as well.

My first Beta MCM workunit ended in an error (much like all but one of my regular MCM workunits did before I stopped the flow). Here's the log:
