Re: Mapping Cancer Markers Beta Test - Version 7.26 [ Issues Thread ]

None yet here but probably my goof. I still had MCM1 selected in my device profile. I've found I normally won't get betas if I have any active project selected. With just three days left to silver, it really would be nice to make it. Either way, that will come eventually. Maybe I can snag some of that third batch....

Re: Mapping Cancer Markers Beta Test - Version 7.26 [ Issues Thread ]

These wu's are very nicely sized now. About 4 hours each for me. No large and small chunks. smile

Looks different for me DM. Have 6 on one machine that all have the same amount of run time(3 1/2 hours) but completions are from 59%-99%. thinking
Other machines are spread out as well. confused

I have two that will take on the order of 10-11 hours. They are about 1/2 way through now.

All of the BETA work units that I received have been running smoothly so far.

FYI - I have MCM1 selected in my profile and still receive Beta WUs.

@breathesgelatin

<core_client_version>6.10.58</core_client_version><--- IMHO this is your problem.
I went through my results logs looking at the ones that were resent to me after they errored out on another machine. Almost without exception the errors came from a machine using a 6.10.xx version of BOINC and I looked at more than 100. You might want to consider updating your client to a version 7.(7.0.64 is the latest recommended I believe)6.10.xx is over 4 years old.

Download version 7.2.28 recommended
BOINC client software - http://boinc.berkeley.edu/download_all.php

That's weird. I haven't been crunching in a while because I had some computers die and now I have new computers, and I hadn't gotten around to installing BOINC. I downloaded direct from the WCG website... didn't realize it would be that outdated. I'll download a newer version and see what happens. Thanks for the tip!

I don't know if this has to do with beta, but I can't get BOINC to start properly. I get the message

Retrieving current status.

But current status is never retrieved... And I have no projects in the task list and I have nothing under projects.

MCM1 WU Ready to Report/Update is being deferred by WCG.

EDIT: Whatever was broke is fixed now.

Anyone that seen anything different than beta tasks of the 0000000 production batch? Had only those, none of the 9999979 beta batch that was going to be rerun in this [regression] test.
