A Comprehensive Cancer Gene Test Gets the Go-Ahead

A test that can quickly detect cancer-causing mutations in 324 genes has gained approval from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and a green light for coverage from the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

Statins, aspirin and ibuprofen could potentially benefit melanoma patients.

The study of nearly 800 newly diagnosed melanoma patients suggests the drugs may be chemopreventive.

The research led by Brisbane's QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute shows those patients who use statins regularly are significantly less likely to be diagnosed with an ulcerated melanoma than non-users.

The above title is a little bit ambiguous. The article states that one bacterial species seems to support tumor growth and causes resistance to chemotherapy.
