I'm 61, way too old to be showing you "my stuff" This is what I have here only instead of the Sandy Bridge 8 cores it right now has the Ivy Bridge E5-2687W V2 8 cores.. http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthrea...amp;p=5192765#post5192765 ![]() |

Anxiously awaiting your results in both Windows and Linux for those chips. I am waiting to be blown away. Cheers I want to see if I can out do Buck Nasty's 64 core machine.. It will be interesting but I think I will need linux to do that if I even can.. Beating 64 cores with 24 is a big stretch! Both rigs are actually 48 cores 4p's(6176SE & 6180SE). Running the [H] Nexgen bios that allows overclocking on SuperMicro H8Q series boards. Currently @ 2.67Ghz on the 6176 and 2.83ghz on the 6180. I welcome your challenge Moviman . |

I will do my best..I wish I could get a OC bios for the Asus AMD dualie I have, just got two 6386 16 cores for it.. The Intel board will OC a "little:..1.0755 BCLK with IB cpu's so should do 3226MHz or 77,424 total MHz with the 12 core Intel E5-2697 V2's.. Regardless it will be fun to see what happens.. ![]() ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by Movieman at Oct 20, 2013 5:10:10 AM] |

Don't overdo it MM, some experts I believe recommend a slight underclock to get the optimum performance of the Mk 1 Movieman. and as far as I am aware no OEM spares are available for the Mark 1 MM unit.

I smiled but more than that I appreciate the thought that was behind it. Thank you Now they are up and running: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthrea...amp;p=5212250#post5212250 ![]() |

I left the machine running WCG when I went to bed. Just looked and the machines average is going up like the flight path of a Saturn 5 rocket.. And the temps..Granted I have a couple of huge Vantec tornadoes on the HS BUT still..max core temp at 3187MHz at 100% load is 45C.. Yes, no typo..45C..
----------------------------------------Amazing chips! Later today will try and see if 3226MHz is doable.. ![]() |

I welcome your challenge Moviman .How have you found the AMD chips for crunching, compared to the Intel stuff? Once I get my boiler at home replaced (priorities, unfortunately, especially with winter approaching), I'm looking at a quad-CPU rackmount-server, and have been looking at the 6376 or 6378 (16-core 2.30 or 2.40GHz) for processing power. I've only ever had access to Intel Xeons, primarily, on the server side of things so far, though, so have no experience how the AMD range compares... ![]() |

Thargor: My experience was only with the 6168 12 core AMD cpu's and what I saw was that dualie was equal to a 6 core Intel desktop cpu running at app 4200MHz and drew 275W at full load.. They "ain't bad" but just don't match the Intels BUT they are a lot cheaper..It's a tough decision to be honest..I have two 6386SE's here that will be in a asus KGPE-D16 board in app a week so can make a better comment in a few weeks..
----------------------------------------Oh, 107BCLK is working here..3226MHz YIPPEE! ![]() |
