Re: Good morning team.

Good morning team. It's cool here this morning and rather damp - 22C but forecast to his to a warm 33C. After my small tirade about the working conditions of our night time security guard a team of workers blitzed the area and it is now somewhat more habitable. The power of email eh!

Good afternoon team.

It is exceptionally windy in the North East today.

Re: Good morning team.

My fence was blown down last night, was up at 2:30am trying to prop it up before it fell completely, didn't do any good though.
Thank heavens for postcrete, it will be easy to fix.

Re: Good morning team.

Anyone using Debian to do their crunching? The latest update (8.3) has updated the certificates and the client can no longer communicate with the WCG servers. Fortunately I've only lost 3 units on one client. I'll be a bit more wary about upgrading from now on.

I am, and I do have the update to 8.3 queued (but I have to manually activate it) - were you able to easily fix it?

I'll run my queue down before I do the upgrade, then have a tinker around.

I haven't tried to fix it yet, Thargor. Fortunately the one I broke was a VM, so I've switched the crunching to another (Windows) VM on the same host. I have a standalone machine running Debian, and I've manually updated everything except the ca-certificates package. I think you can use apt pinning to achieve the same effect.

If I get chance over the weekend I'll spin up another VM and give it a go. It's not even possible to connect to the project in the first place with 8.3 (using boinccmd --project_attach ...).

Re: Good morning team.

Good Morning Fellow Crunchers!

Thunder and lightning is rolling around as I type and we have had nearly an inch of rain in the last hour. Quite welcome really but it will play havoc with the continuing road building elsewhere in the condominium.

I've just installed a temperature monitor on my 3 Macs and am quite surprised by the results (high!), it also appears that one fan on my Mac Book Pro isn't working. I need to get that fixed ASAP but it is a model that is now obsolete so I may have trouble. A good excuse to upgrade?
