Re: Good morning team.

Good Morning All.

A bit misty - moisty here this morning with the sun well hidden behind clouds. There is a promise of rain but I'm not holding my breath. We are still awaiting the rainy season to start in earnest although the temperatures remain high as we move towards autumn. Must be an effect of El Niño.

Re: Good morning team.

So once the rainy season kicks in, RTS48, can we expect regular complaints about the swimming pool overflowing and drowned peacocks on the lawn (which will have been too wet to mow for several weeks)?
You can tell I don't know much about the climate in Bolivia smile

Re: Good morning team.

dc Look here

https://www.bolivianlife.com/weather-and-climate-in-bolivia/

Because the altitude varies from 300m above sea level (in the East) to over 6,000m in the West you can imagine that there are many different climates here. I'm in Santa Cruz and have never noticed a drowned peacock smile, they may be stupid but they can fly very well!

Re: Good morning team.

I loved this piece on that website RTS48...

The rainy season from November to April in Bolivia’s lowlands can be calamitous, with torrential downpour making transportation via roads challenging, if not impossible.

Re: Good morning team.

Anyone using Debian to do their crunching? The latest update (8.3) has updated the certificates and the client can no longer communicate with the WCG servers. Fortunately I've only lost 3 units on one client. I'll be a bit more wary about upgrading from now on.

Re: Good morning team.

Good morning team. A cooler night last night with a little rain. I don't know where the forecasters get their data but 53mm was predicted and so far we have had 7mm.

Yes dc the rain here can be catastrophic but normally around the Beni (North) region which borders onto the rainforest. Years of poor investment in infrastructure such as roads, drainage etc. means that flooding is inevitable and lives and livestock are lost. Unmetalled rodas stand no chance and landslides can be a problem too.
