Good Morning All. It's as I feared - out of 20 active WUs 14 are 24h+ FAH2. My user average has dropped like a stone and is likely to end up less than 10,000. I know it is all good for community benefits but I really don't understand the arbitrary nature of points credit. Looking at other forums - we are not alone in complaints about long WUs and short deadlines. There may be trickle up and part credit for WUs that time out but it is still results in lost CPU time as far as I am concerned. I'm seriously considering dumping FAH2 for the time being to see if I can recover my average points haul.

I've stopped running Faah2 and switched to MCM as I see new work batches have been added, I have personal reasons for running cancer related projects.
By my calculations Faah2 returns the lowest points by some margin compared to other current active projects, I run Windows. Also the long run times and short due dates will only suit some, which seems wrong to me, even CEP2 has some short WUs. |

GOOD NEWS (Maybe). I have read in the forums that the WCG Techs are working on a fix for the long run times for FAH2. It appears that the code was optimised for Windows and both OSX and Linux are suffering.
----------------------------------------Expect a BETA soon.

Good Morning All! WOW - I wake up to 12 Betas crunching away on my 20 cores. Looks at first glance that the run times will reduce to about 18 hours which will be most welcome, especially if the points are the same.

Hello fellow team members :)
----------------------------------------I have convinced the wife to let me crunch at home again, but only when I am using the computer, it has to be turned off otherwise. Still every bit helps. My other two machines have been working well in my absence. Getting solar panels installed in a few weeks. Hope everyone is well. ![]() |
