Congratulations DMNI, it looks very tasty. At the moment my favourite is coffee ice cream. I brew 4 espresso shots and mix in with the condensed milk before folding it into the whipped cream - reduces the sweetness somewhat. Now all I need is some warmer weather to justify pigging the lot!

Well, yesterday was a fun day, spent mostly looking up at the sky (occasionally through a camera-viewfinder) - here's my favourite shot from the day, linked rather than inline-posted since it's a bit of a large image!

What a lovely shot Thargor. A Vulcan bomber if I'm not mistaken. I used to see them low level flying at Spaedadam in Cumbria when I worked for British Gas. They were very often lower than the rig I was working on.

Good morning everyone.
Great shot and thank you Thargor. We were not able to the Vulcan during its southern peregrinations yesterday as we live inside the London Air Traffic Control Area. Used to love seeing / hearing (that lovely Wookie roar) Vulcan during Biggin Hill Air Shows. ![]() |

Good Morning All. Well, it looks like FAH2 is taking its toll on my performance - down from a performance rate of 112 Gflops to 95.2 Gflops - that's some hit. The new FAH2 betas seem to be out of the way. I can only hope that they start to release some better optimised WUs soon otherwise it's back to 100% OET until they do.

When I was a lad Vulcans where a common sight as they were based not far away at RAF Cottesmore. And would be able to get close to them when there was an air show or open day.

I can hear that roar as it flies away from you. Just such a beautiful plane with a ferocious beast under the body. Love to see and hear the Vulcan and that engine howl, fabulous. May have to pay youtube a visit tonight when I can put the volume up. It flew over here a couple of months ago at our weekend air-day, beautiful then gave us a loud howl, goosebumps! More than a few people around me had misty eyes and they saw it fly for the last time. Remember feeling the ground shake when it used to do full power displays at the near by RAF camp, it would pull up to the vertical then just power up, ground shaking and deafening. Superb memories of those displays, of course that was long before they had to start treating them with a bit more care. I know other bombers can carry more, fly further, faster but they don't look or sound anywhere near as good! |
