Good Morning All,
----------------------------------------As predicted today is Weggy (Muggy Weggy). Ha - does music choice go hand in hand with Team UK? Zep, Floyd, Def Lep etc etc, not to mention Eric C. Are we really wrinklies reliving the fantastic decades of 60s and 70s or was that the time after which music died? My two sons, long grown up and living away, used to play 'Drum & Base' or 'Bonky-Bonky' music as I used to call it. DarkmatterNI - I have 4 real guitars and a Charango here with me so music is but a 'pluck' away.

RTS48 there is still good music coming from newer bands, it's harder to find though but fun finding out.

In my opinion the best music was definitely the 60s. My favourite was the rolling stones

Three Cheers for the Rolling Stones. I saw them in the Station Hotel in Richmond before they released their first single (Come On). Anyone remember 'The Pretty Things'? Go on - show your age - I dare you.

RTS48, I have a true story for you. My mother had a date with Mick Jagger when they were touring NI in 1963 but she left half way through the date because she thought he was too ugly.
----------------------------------------I tried to play guitar for a couple of years, but with my short thin fingers I was dreadful. Love music but never learnt an instrument. I saw Randy Rhoades with Ozzy Osbourne just before he died. Also saw Bon Jovi when they were a front band, Judas Priest if I remember correctly. ![]() [Edit 3 times, last edit by Darkmatter.NI at Aug 19, 2015 8:14:39 PM] |

Always good to have spare air guitars around! Never got round to trying to learn to play an instrument so if I had any guitars around the place then they would be there just looking pretty at me. Somehow I don't think I could ever reach the brilliance in real life as happens inside my head.
----------------------------------------Can't stand the drum n bass or the RnB that is around today. RnB is Rhythm and Blues to me, really enjoy the annual Jools Holland show late in the year. Gary Moore, Dr Feelgood, Stevie Ray Vaughn, that kind of thing. Did thoroughly enjoy Vintage Trouble at this years Glastonbury. And while the sound wasn't brilliant at Wembley this year, I did get to see AC/DC for the first time on what is likely to be final tour. Put Planet Rock on the radio and I'm happy! I missed the 60s being born in the 70s but mainly noticed music in the 80s, but good music is good no matter how old it is. The baby CD does ring a vague bell at the back of the braincell. Not sure how or why as I don't have kids. Does give them an early introduction before they graduate on to the real thing. |

God Morning All, gardening day today. I've just bought another batch of palms and bamboos as well as a few bedding plants and they need to go in today or they will crisp. The seeds are coming on well and should be ready for a transplant in a week or so. Everything is growing like Topsy now.
----------------------------------------I'm looking forward to the return of F1 this weekend. Let's hope that Lewis and Nico manage to avoid each other this time and Seb Vettel is returned to his rightful position behind the Williams team.
