Re: LunchCrunch Report

@ Labinopper
I've set mine up to only take FAAH as a last resort, but I don't ever seem to get any CEP2 WUs =( can you only have one at a time or something??

Go to Device Manager amd then whichever profile you are using. Towards the bottom: Project Specific Settings Number of workunits per host for The Clean Energy Project - Phase 2? Select # as appropriate.

@ Labinopper

My Grid -> Device Manager -> pick a profile -> go to bottom of page and pick how many CEP2 WUs you want to have on your computer at once.

Re: LunchCrunch Report

@ Maugan

Might be worth checking your CEP2 WUs In Progress for WUs with a replication count>2. These tend to be the WUs that have a history of erroring out and you might want to abort them rather than waste time crunching them for 30 mins before they error.

Re: LunchCrunch Report

Thanks jonnieb-uk

I've been keeping a close eye on the WUs on this machine, no signs of any errors yet. And when I have access to the others I do the same on them. I just hope that while I'm away they dont get stuck erroring for half the day.

So far so good.

CEP2

@ Labinopper

More about CEP2 WUs when you get them wink

A standard CEP2 WU runs for 12.0 hrs CPU so somewhere about 12.7hrs elapsed time depending sow efficient your computer is.

The first check point comes after about 40mins but the 2nd checkpoint can be after 6hours. If you switch your computer off overnight any work completed after CP1, and before CP2 is in place, will be lost!

Re: CEP2

aah right, thanks JonnieB, I shall remember that, probably do 4 or 8 CEPs at a time and have them suspended until the morning when I know they can run for 12 hours straight =)

CEP2 problem

knreed Oct 1, 2013 10:23:58 PM
We have the fix in place [for CEP2] and we are watching it to confirm it is working as intended.

seippel Oct 1, 2013 10:54:01 PM
This problem should now be fixed. We've finished updating the validator to handle these work units which were previously erroring out and you should automatically get credit for future work units where this occurs (previous work units have manually had credit given). The problem was that the current library contains one or more molecular building blocks which lead to compounds which are difficult to characterize quantum chemically. Information about which work units experience this will help the scientist learn from it for the future.

what about if I put the computer to Sleep or Hibernate rather than shutting it down? housemates won't ever know the difference as its not using any electricity anyways =) Would that mean it wouldn't need the checkpoints?

Re: CEP2

I've hit a bug on this computer. With more than 1 CEP2 WU running every time the client requests new WUs all the current CEP2 WUs reset to the last check point. So I keep losing loads of RT.
