Re: Morning Update III

Thanks genhos, I'll just have to keep an eye on things, check for machines that are slacking etc...

Re: Morning Update III

Having just checked one batch of PC and found 2 that had failed, I'll be checking the rest, now the output may improve somewhat!

Corrected errors and restarted, all looks ok with those 2 now, on to the rest...

Re: In Other News

Thanks for the C+P of the
"Badge Earned -" text. it would appear that recruits have to actually crunch to be counted which is good. smile

Just an update JonnieB they've added a new line to the My Contribution page about the Recruitment Badges...

Only contributing members count towards your recruitment badge. Members who have yet to contribute, or have not returned a result in the past 30 days, are greyed out.

Sounds like badges are only valid aslong as your recruited crunchers are still crunching (or have within 30 days) so presumably it'd actually be possibly to lose/downgrade badges... not sure I like the idea of that =( be good incentive for you to force your recruitees to continue their crunching though! haha

Should I claim the credit for giving them a nudge to make the change confused cool

Hmm Loss or down grade of badges earnt would certainly be an innovation! I think perhaps "force" should be replaced with "encourage" wink

Re: LunchCrunch Report

I hooked my phone up and it got extremely hot. Uninstalled it pretty much instantly. Seems a bit dodgy. Any advice?

I tried it with my Galaxy S2 and, despite setting it to use one core at 50% and increasing the temperature threshold from 40C to 55C, it disabled crunching due to the temperature almost straight away.

However, tried it on my Nexus 7 and it can crunch all day long without getting too hot at all. I came to the conclusion that the majority of phones aren't remotely designed to do solid crunching constantly.

Fair enough. I'll find something else then smile

(I was using a OnePlus One)

Re: LunchCrunch Report

Looks like I need to take my main crunching machine offline for a few hours crying

Two cooling fans have just died. Great.

Re: LunchCrunch Report

Yikes! 2 cooling fans failing at the same time, ouch.

Surprised that the fans on the server at work haven't spun themselves into disintegrating, sounds like it's going to take off. Think a Chinook would be quieter wink

And I'm tantalisingly close to passing the 10 million point barrier, should do that tomorrow.

@Mamaj - had those computers failed completely or just having a bit of a rest and putting their feet up?

See the resident moggy has purred into a record breaking RT output. Good pusstat!

Just my luck to be honest. All sorted now though (datacenter replaced the fans within an hour or so).
