In Other News
I've watched a couple of episodes of Halt and Catch Fire
an American period drama set in the Silicon Prairie of Texas in 1983 ... depicts a fictionalized insider's view of the personal computer revolution. The show's title refers to the machine code instruction Halt and Catch Fire, which would cause the computer's central processing unit to cease functioning.

Worth a look if you can find it.

I'd never heard of the phrase halt and catch fire thinking
