Of interest to those seeking to maintain, or achieve, Global5000 rank, it would appear there is a significant level of inactivity amongst those currently qualified.

Although currently based on a small time frame*** RunTime 1,389 Points 1,201 Results 1,277 Users are showing no recent activity.

In summary 1,825 unique Users with Global5000 rank are inactive!

***The data capture is only recently established and surveys only 3 days. The conclusions drawn will be more robust as it grows to 28days.

So how come CEP2 is such a small percentage compared to the big two? Even lower when you look at WCG as a whole. Any particular reason or just peeps choosing their causes to support?

It's a combination of reasons:

Running multiple CEP2 WUs concurrently can have a serious adverse on a machine's [erformance. Personally I run a max of 2 concurrently on a quad core.

CEP2 WUs can take 18hrs to complete and checkpoint infrequently. If you turnoff or reboot a machine work done since the last checkpoint is lost. Therefore people using machines e.g. laptops, which are not on 24/7, tend to avoid CEP2
