Sadly Barnsley_Tatts has left to seek his fortune with Ripple. ![]() Worrying reports of involuntary changes of team. Ripple Labs team change today ![]() Barnsley_Tatts should you happen to read this post can you confirm that the change from UK to Ripple was by design. This is worrying... /me goes check if he's still in team UK. This is the 3rd confirmed instance of involuntary team change. ![]() Text of an email sent to WCG: There are reports in the forum of involuntary changes in team. User Barnsley_Tatts #115562 a fellow member of the UK team confirms his team change yesterday was not instigated by him (& has been reversed today when drawn to his attention). No doubt you are already investigating this and the other 2 instances reported in the forum but PLEASE make an immediate statement ensuring that it reaches the widest possible audience. A forum post will NOT suffice. I would suggest a News item, possibly even a Special Announcement. This occurence has the potential to seriously damage confidence in the security and integrity of WCG and the community needs to be reassured at the earliest opportunity. I've looked at the last 463 members to join Ripple in the last few days. 378 joined WCG and then joined Ripple on the same day so no problem there. But of the remaining 85 members 53 were members of WCG for at least 12 days before joining Ripple including 33 who had been members of WCG for more than a year before joining Ripple in the last 6 days. |

How often does Snurks signature thingy update? Mine still says Ripple unfortunately. Just after midnight daily. Your status as a member of Ripple has changed to retired and on the UK team has "unretired" so the Globe sig should update tonight. Any results which validated yesterday will go to Ripple team stats unless WCG make a correction. ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by jonnieb-uk at Mar 12, 2014 1:50:59 PM] |

Thanks!
----------------------------------------Also, thanks for highlighting that I'd changed teams. I'd probably not have noticed otherwise! ![]() |

In view of recent comments in this forum, I have changed my password to something a little more robust, previously had been a long dictionary word with numeric characters for certain vowels.

In view of recent comments in this forum, I have changed my password to something a little more robust, previously had been a long dictionary word with numeric characters for certain vowels. Although my password was already alphanumeric (unfortunately WCG's system doesn't support special characters and doesn't support 16+ characters), I've secured it a little bit more by mixing in some upper-case letters that I didn't have before and made it a little longer. ![]() |

Evening everyone
![]() Has made me think about starting to build a machine (first time eek) Think I have a good enough understanding of the basics to give it a go lol. All seems relatively simple. Anyhows just wondering whats important when it comes to motherboards? Would something like this work? ASRock 970 Extreme3 R2.0 AMD 970 (Socket AM3+) DDR3 ATX Not looking to do it all at once, prob over a couple of months starting with CPU, case and motherboard. |

As noted above my stats for the team update every 3 hours. There have been no member changes today apart from Barnsley_Tatts rejoining.
----------------------------------------![]() AgrFan who made one of initial reports of involuntary team movement has just posted: My team switched to RL again today. I have set my profile to not accept any new work and will be changing my password after my current work is finished. My clients will be turned off until this is investigated fully and a resolution is found. I would hope IBM issues a public response to this very soon. One solution would be to zero out the RL points and stop issuing work to them. This is quite disturbing. But I guess this is what you get when you link volunteering and money. ![]() WCG's response ro my emal (quoted above) said: Once we discover what the issue is, we will decide what the best course of action to take is, regarding informing the members. All very well and good, but the longer they take to do something and say something, the more User confidence will be damaged. |
