Re: https://wcg.codegibbons.uk/

Welcome aboard Alan.
Both you and your "partner in crime" Tib_Big_D are chasing me down, especially when the gpu units are out there. Can't persuade him to get me an i9 for work. I need one, honest wink

Hope everyone is well. Even though we are getting through the jabs, still need to be careful to hopefully avoid a spike in cases. It will be a bit weird getting back to the "old" normal considering we have got used to this "new" normal.

I did notice that there is competition from a Vodafone team as the top output in the UK, and with the GPUs on the loose a few other teams in the UK ramped up their output.

Hi genhos, good to meet you! I'll have a word with T_B_D! wink

Just got a dozen GPU tasks so looks like we're back in business.

Yes it will be odd being able to go to the pub and cinema, as you say we have to take it steady and not go crazy on monday.

Welcome reecehaigh,

too paraphrase dcrobinson, the stats website and sig guru.

Re: More Bling!

How do the signatures work?

Hi reecehaigh. You set the signature in your forum profile, inserting the link that dmni posted. My website grabs a load of data from the World Community Grid website every morning at 06:00 UTC, and generates the stats and updates the signature graphics with your latest numbers and badge count. The colour of the signature is based on how many points you've accumulated for Team UK:

100,000: Bronze
500,000: Silver
1,000,000: Gold
5,000,000: Amethyst
10,000,000: Ruby
20,000,000: Emerald
50,000,000: Sapphire
100,000,000: Diamond (pale yellowy grey)
250,000,000: "Rod Peel Pink" (can't remember why, RTS48)
500,000,000: "Unobtainium Blue"
1,000,000,000: "Galactic Green" (with star field background)

So far only reduk has the top signature, but mac1 will get one soon.

Re: More Bling!

Aha, wondered why mine had suddenly turned purple! biggrin

For some reason, on my monitor, those higher up ranks, the colours are very feint, you hardly notice a border at all.

Re: More Bling!

Glad you've picked up some GPUs. I haven't seen any since the stress test, mainly because my home computer is the only one with a GPU card. Mind you getting hold of a new GPU is a bit like trying to find rocking horse poop.

Hi Alan,
I made all the higher up ranks pale, mainly because they were originally kind of "diamond-ish", but as the team scores got higher I was struggling for colours. I'm now thinking what to do for 2 billion :)
Regarding them looking too faint or washed out, it sounds like either your monitor brightness is too high or your gamma is wrong. If you want to adjust it, you could run the display calibrator in Windows (assuming you're running Windows). Just click on Start and type "calibrate".

Re: More Bling!

Hi everyone,
Just letting you know that I've finally got round to doing some more work on the Team Challenges section of my website. If you click on the challenge name it will show you the top ten entrants, which usually includes Team UK smile.
There will inevitably be a few issues and "edge cases" (as we software engineers tend to call things we haven't thought of or can't be bothered about), which I will eventually get round to fixing!
