Good Morning Everyone.
----------------------------------------How's the LingerLonger flu Tom we haven't heard much from you of late. Did you get your 10 year Diamond Steve? If so - congratulations. Due to the low point count and dodgy processing of MIP1 I am only linking with that project for one day a week. I'm still some 130 CPU days away from my Sapphire but if I go to 100% MIP1 then my average plummets. I'm sttill limiting MIP1 to only three threads at a time (when it runs) on two of my 3 Macs. Meanwhile I am heading for my 20 year Diamond for SCC (only 7 years CPU time to go!)

The flu is still lingering Rod Although less severe each day. The muscles have stopped aching but it has left me feeling listless.Forever coughing up goo, but I think it is definitely easing.
Well done to all for the various milestones. I am going for the diamond 50 for zika, currently on 30 years. I have turned off one of the servers, it really does inflate the electricity bill... |

Good Morning All.
----------------------------------------I'm glad to hear that you are making a recovery Tom I don't think that I have had a dose of flu for years and it is tempting (and dangerous) to think that it can't happen here in such a warm climate. However one of my local Facebook Friends has reported a poleaxeing infection which, while it only lasted 24 hours, took some 14 days to recover. I will get vaccinated again this year as a precaution even if it is reported as being only 20% efficient.

Will be switching away from MIP once I get to five years. What projects have the shortest run times / best performance these days?

MIP is a poor scoring project and I moved off it when I got a D5 badge. I tend to run the same project on my 2 pc's and with MIP the difference in performance between them was the largest I'v seen, normally the gap is similer. MIP must work differently to the other projects.

Good Morning All.
----------------------------------------crooks uk I have been running SCC which, while not a spectacular points earner, seems to be pretty consistent at around 25 points / h. I read somewhere on these forums that MIP is bad when you run more than a couple of threads simultaneously. On my 2 faster Macs I am only running 3 threads at a time. I have a script to do this which, if you want I can post here. scol5913 I agree entirely, indeed I am creeping up on my 2 year Sapphire MIP badge but never running more than 25 WUS in batches, all my other WUS are SCC. Look in the MIP Forum under ' Significant Credit Drop ...' There is a full discussion on improving MIP points awards.

If only there was a badge for this...

Maybe we could petition WCG to give badges for every 10 yrs of Runtime, The jump from 20 to 50 to 100 is daunting, while a badge every 10 can be a good incentive to continue. ![]() |

If MIP is bad when running multiple threads simultaneously, that would explain the low points I get from my 40 thread workstation. Planning on switching over tomorrow to other projects.
