But my reason for posting is to ask Dave if he has a problem with his stats site. If I missed an earlier post my apologies, but I see on the site: I've just rebooted the machine and ran it manually and it worked. I'm guessing that the networking didn't like the router switch. Hopefully it'll run at 4am tomorrow as normal.

Morning DC, The team overtakes did not update last night. Correct... but I did update them manually at about 8:45am .It went through a period like this about 18 months ago. No idea why, but I will keep an eye on it for the next few days and run it manually as required.

Good Morning all.
----------------------------------------Obviously I should check the stats more often but as I have been away (in Cochabamba) for four days I have a (semi) valid excuse. Weather is somewhat strange here. The Santa Cruz TV anounced an AMBER alert for storms and flooding yesterday (we would not be affected by the flooding as our house is on high ground). Result? Hot sunny day with not a cloud in the sky and (obviously) no rain. It's worrying that the authorities can panic so much as to issue an alert when none of my simple non professional iPhone and iPad weather programs tell me there is nothing to worry about!

Good morning. The stats page updated all by itself this morning, after sulking for a couple of days, so hopefully things are back to normal. Please contact me through my website or just email me if it stops working again.

Morning Team,
----------------------------------------I have 2 serious problems with my new setup, and I'll be doing testing over the next few days to sort them out so my production will stop for a short while. Problem 1 is a video playback issue where if I fast forward a video using the timeline ( I use VLC) the GUI will lock hard, The currently running threads still work but the GUI is completely unresponsive (keyboard and mouse also) which needs a reboot to fix. It does not matter what drive the file resides on or the file system under it. Need to do some testing to narrow down what is happening, but I suspect the graphic driver Nvidia 384.90. Problem 2 is the Memory running on its xmp profile under Linux also does a hard lock, with all threads affected. Going to try this under windows and a few different Linux's. There is also something weird with the slots as well, there are 8 slots, quad setup the sticks should occupy the even slots, it boots fine then locks after 20 seconds of the desktop. It will not boot unless running at 3200mhz. tried setting them to 2100 and 266 but it won't boot. So, the sticks are in the first 4 slots and running at 2100 currently. I am using Linux Mint 64bit with Cinnamon. My previous setup was running LMDE 2 but it is so out of date now (and will not be updated till next March/April) that is will not even install. Going to give Debian a try, FreeBSD and TrueOS do not support sound and Ethernet, sadly. . Really do not want to have to use windows. Anyone have any ideas or possible tests for me to try, I am all ears. ![]() [Edit 2 times, last edit by Darkmatter.NI at Nov 25, 2017 1:12:18 PM] |
