Re: Good evening team

... which has forced me to buy a new one biggrin , which I am (very reluctantly wink ), forced to test on the grid, just to make sure it's running well under pressure (cough, cough devilish ), so for a little while, my production will increase a little cool

I always find that laptops get very noisy on the WCG, TMC. I had a laptop at work for a long time, and I had to run eFMer TThrottle to keep the heat down (at a huge cost to crunching performance). I've always been a big fan of quiet computing, and both my home machines can crunch flat out without being audible.
It's good to hear your wife is recovering. BTW, I'm gunning for you on the 7 day leaderboard, and Thargor too. I've embarked on a "to hell with the electricity bill" exercise - I think it was something to do with the anniversary of the Somme, and "the big push", that triggered it.

Re: Good evening team

Good afternoon all - promise! no F1 today. What is done is done and we move on.

Just noticed that I have passed 16 million points for WCG this afternoon. It has been a long time coming but 17 million here we come.

I too tried to resurrect an old lap top (windows Vista 32 Bit) but with no luck - keeps on going to sleep which requires a resume. I've tried just about everything to no avail (power saving profile, hibernation off etc. etc.). Any ideas anybody?

Are you sure you mean "16 million points for WCG" Rod? My stats are showing that you've just passed 100 million points for the team. Did you mean MCM perhaps?
Regarding the laptop, maybe it's just old and tired and needs a rest? smile Unfortunately I can remember much about Vista, never having owned it, but I would imagine it's like pretty much every other version of windows. You could always try this in a command prompt:

powercfg.exe -change -standby-timeout-ac 0
powercfg.exe -change -hibernate-timeout-ac 0

They should stop it sleeping or hibernating on AC.

Re: Good evening team

A special mention to Bartough, who's been a WCG member since 2006, a team UK member for a year, but has now started shooting up the rankings as one of the team top 10 performers. Good stuff smile

Morning team! smile

Now I've hit the Sapphire badge for ZIKA, I've switched priority back to MCM to push for the Diamond-50 badge!

I think you are worthy, Bartough. You've got some serious crunching going on by the look of it. It's good to have you in the forums. It's nice to lure a lurker out of the closet (or whatever the expression is) biggrin
