I am getting the same as others. No work, tries to fetch but nothing happens. I don't even see my device here in Device manager, only remnants of old information from a computer I used to use, but nothing about my phone. Should I be seeing it here on the website? If you've attached the device to WCG it should show up in your "Device Profiles" list. It hasn't returned any work yet, so it won't show up on your statistics page. Is it in the device profiles page? I have nothing in my Device Profiles list that specifically says Android or anything to do with my phone. I DO have two profiles, Default and Home. I know one of them is probably my old PC (no longer in use), but when I click on them, they look identical, I can't tell if one is supposed to be my Android device. Is there a way to verify that one of those profiles in the Android device? The settings looks the same in both profiles, many of which wouldn't apply to a phone, whereas the settings on the Boinc app on the phone are very simple and few. Totally confused here. ![]() EDIT: OMG, it's working!!! Just checked it again and now it's downloading a task (I think, I see progress bar at 2.9% under tasks). I don't know what happened to make it work, haven't even looked at it since last night. Still not sure which of those profiles is the phone, they both seem to have all my previous statistics from my old PC.[Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Aug 2, 2013 1:04:03 AM] |

Hi La Luna,
Click on My Grid - Device Manager and it will show you the Selected Profile for each computer you have connected to World Community Grid. Click on the Selected Profile and it will show your settings. I suspect it will be Default and you will want to change it to a named profile in order to customize it. Lawrence |

La Luna, I believe all the Android phones are named "localhost" in your "Device Manager" page. Unfortunately I don't see a way to set an alias for this so you could name it something easier to remember. If someone had several phones it would be hard to distinguish which was which.
----------------------------------------Also, the % indicator for each work unit under the "Tasks" window is a good way to see where you are, but if you click on the work unit itself it will give you more information. You know you are actively processing if the "Elapsed Time" clock is counting up as opposed to being paused. Glad to hear you're up an running though. Sowdman, Can you list your preference settings? Also, are you plugged in and connected to a WIFI source? [Edit 2 times, last edit by Former Member at Aug 2, 2013 1:44:32 PM] |

Thank you all for working together and getting each other up and running.
We are working with Berkeley and Einstein@Home to get those important notices from the server saying why you aren't getting work moved to the 'status' tab on the dialogue. That will make it dramatically easier to find. The issue with moving the data to the sdcard is that you cannot run a file as an executable if it is stored on the sd card. This means that it will be necessary to alter the core client in order to handle placing different types of resources in different locations which is pretty big change. It will be done, but it will take a little while. |
