Re: 24 days of new work remaining for HPF2

Yes, the skip forward from 70-odd percent to 99 percent [courtesy of the budget enforcers causing the knock-off of a few years research, even the current experiment], equates to a last week daily average of 3.64% laughing tongue kiss

Re: 24 days of new work remaining for HPF2

HI:

I was really surprised this morning when I checked the WCG project status chart and discovered that there is only 24 calendar left in this project! WOW! I thought there was 900+ days left in this project. The chart is correct, right?

Another project nearing completion shortly after HCC Project 2 was completed.

I tip my hat to all the volunteer crunchers.

@cehunt... Not sure if you've seen it, but here's a link that explains the why of the drop in days left for the project:

Re: 24 days of new work remaining for HPF2

Having reached the 2 year milestone in the last couple of days, I've now moved away from HPF2 and released almost all spare wu's (well will do when my systems go online just after midnight -UK time)

Hope it helps those of you still after milestones and/or goals.

It's been good crunching this one to Sapphire, especially with the sudden end being announced.

Re: 24 days of new work remaining for HPF2

Doh ! I'm another one that had throttled this project to a dribble thinking it had 2+ years left. Emerald with really no hope of Sapphire, unless we get maybe 14+ days of re-issues after the last fresh WU is sent, or they add another small milestone for kicks. Irony is, I now need about 24 days, my bad for not reading forums often. :-)

Any chance the Admins can set deadlines out an extra fortnight so a few of us can try to back up the truck in a valiant effort for Sapphire? Just trying, as 9 Blues and 1 Green looks weird ;-)

Regards,
Aces

Re: 24 days of new work remaining for HPF2

I know how ya feel. Unforseen circumstances left me with two emeralds, although the one is probably my own fault (1.5 days short of 2 years on Rice). CEP1 is the only one where I didn't have a chance. If only I could get in my wayback machine and shuffle my project priorities around...

Emerald with really no hope of Sapphire

Hi Aces... you might try what I've done. I was in the same situation as you.

I posted a social media message on facebook asking for friends to help me meet my 2-year goal on HPF2. I also called some of my family and got them to crunch WCG on my account. I now have nearly doubled my daily output and will just barely get a sapphire badge before HPF2 is done.

I did the same thing with the C4CW project. When I got sapphire, I told all of my helpers that I had met my goal and they could stop crunching on my account. Some of them stopped, but a few of them enjoyed the experience and started their own WCG accounts, joined my team, and are still crunching to this day.

It was a good experience. I met my sapphire goal and WCG gained a few new members at the same time. smile

Re: 24 days of new work remaining for HPF2

You can be happy to got someone who believe you ;) I tried long time ago, but all think it is used for bad things like botnets, commercial and so on. And I AM the EDV Technican in the family, so i should know what im talking about ;) But.. all want to believe in what they believe in, doesnt matter if someone told them if they are right or wrong ^^ But i accept everybodys decition, so... i had to temporary activade 20+ Cores on my own and had to stop things like POEM extra for it *rolls eyes*

Re: 24 days of new work remaining for HPF2

I'm curious what sort of Re-Issue trail-off this project is likely to have given the much higher number of wingmen, but that not all are required for a quorum.

Have there been any recent WU outages in HPF to gauge this, or does anyone have an informed estimate?

Thx so much!

Is there a way to do that without using an XML file?
