Hi guys,
----------------------------------------I just checked on my cruncher and noticed it had taken a serious dive in productivity since I last checked on it on 4/28. It looks like sometime around 5/2 it started failing to get tasks from the following projects.
I didn't see any news items about this, or anyone else asking. I've restarted the station, but no joy. What's up? WCG Client Version 6.10.58 Thanks G [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at May 9, 2013 1:56:33 AM] |

Hi Grasor,
I've been getting CPU tasks for 1, 2, 3, 4, and 7. HPF is not selected in my profile. In your "Device Profile", under the section for "Advanced Options/Processor Usage", there is an option for "Allow research to run on my CPU?" Is that option set to "Yes"? Hope that helps, CaptainJack |

Yes this is set. I had not made any changes to my profile since I started crunching in December. It just stopped getting tasks suddenly.

Grasor, One of the first things I would recommend, is to paste your first 2 dozeon (or so) lines from the beginning of your BOINC messages tab - as that'll give us an idea of your set-up (and hence, hopefully, some clues as to what's going on with your set-up).

Grasor, very possibly, the client started asking for GPU tasks, when there are only CPU tasks. The log piece from start till after a failed work request for the 7 would help us to confirm this.

I've also seen this behavior on several different days. My primary system is an i7 3770 with an AMD GPU. All active and intermittent projects are selected, and I've been running both CPU and GPU tasks (or was until the GPU tasks ran down). My points per day have been averaging 6000 +/- 200, but since 4-May my average PPD has been on a down slope to 4600.
----------------------------------------I've got 6 applications with tasks running, 7 tasks ready to report, 8 running, 6 waiting to run. I've seen all tasks ready to report and none running within the last day. I also have an old P4 running up to two tasks. Obviously this machine is comparatively slow, but it's PPD is increasing. ![]() |

I'd suggest to disable the GPU option on the related device profile(s), so at least the server will know you don't want them [from WCG]. Surely this is related to HCC ending and that stream having dried up starting May 2.

ETA: Some hours later, I was looking at BOINC manager and watched tasks upload and new tasks download. Only 6 tasks downloaded, FAAH (3), GFAM (2), SNTS (1).

Win 7 64, BOINC 7.0.64 If you had been crunching GPU units it will take a couple of days for BOINC to adjust to just doing CPU work. Give it time and it should keep your machine busy and see your cache readjust itself. Cheers.

Unfortunately I restarted the machine which wiped the logs before copying them
---------------------------------------- This is what I have since the 8th. The system setup information is still there though so hope that helps. I did not know HCC was completed on May 2, but I agree the timing is right to cause a problem. It looks like the problem has alleviated, possibly my queue was full so the client was reporting that no tasks were available ?? Not entirely sure. Is HCC going to release new GPU work units in the future? When might this be planned?
